I remember driving up during an ice storm to meet this brand new baby while in my freshman year of college. I had a break between classes and work, so I took the opportunity to meet my friends little man. And I am so happy I did! But I absolutely cannot believe he is a senior! Seriously, how does this happen so fast!

He brought his guitar for a few senior photos and I definitely got lost listening to him play. I wish so badly I had a mic on him because all my camera captured was the wind. But his playing was beautiful!

Today makes 8 years since I got to talk to my sweet mom. 8 years of life that I haven’t gotten to live with her. 8 years of happiness I wanted to share with her. 8 years of questions. 8 years of figuring things out without her.

Tomorrow makes 8 years since I got the call she had ended her life. And it still doesn’t seem real in the slightest. But something I’ll never forget about that day is all the shock on peoples faces. Nobody knew mom struggled with depression and anxiety, and if they had any idea she might, nobody knew how bad it would get.

That’s the thing about depression and anxiety. You can’t see it, and some people are really good at hiding it.

I wish so badly mom could have seen how many people showed up to say goodbye to her. She would have been blown away by how many people her life had touched. How far her love had spread to everyone. All the people that would have dropped what they were doing to come help her, if only she had let them in.

I want to remind you that even in your darkest times, the world still needs you. You are so loved and so important to everyone. Reach out to them. Let them return the love you give.

I am so grateful it felt cooler this morning! Chores were far more enjoyable today!

I absolutely love watching a couple kids get married, buy a home, and fill it with love. I got to be there when Morgan and Nate got married. I was there when they were going through IVF, praying they’d get their miracle. I was able to be there when they announced little Boone was on the way. I was there when her belly was round and we were counting down the days until Boone was here. I was there to capture his little newborn features and snuggles with his mommy. And I was so fortunate to be back last night to see him smiling, laughing, giggling and snuggling his mommy and daddy.
Seriously. I get to be there with you guys as you go through life, and I treasure it. While it hurts my heart a little to see how big the kiddos are getting, what an awesome life I have to get to be there for it!

Her gorgeous florals remind me that I really do just love summer. The colorful flowers, lake days and endless adventures are my fave.

But here we are in fall! Let's bring on those fall colors everyone loves and all the bonfires! Oh, and cooler temps!!

A moment of calm.

If you have ever been a bride, you know. That split second you get to catch your breath on your wedding day is so welcomed.

You have been planning every detail of your day. You have shopped, you have organized, you have answered (what feels like) millions of questions from everyone.

And today, an amazing thing will happen. You get to marry your person.

The day can be busy and hectic, but in those little moments you get to just breathe and remember that the highest priority of this day is getting married. The colors of dresses and flowers don't matter. The table linens will be remembered mainly in your photographs. And you're spending time with your favorite people, all together to celebrate your marriage and encourage you.

Take in those moments. Breathe. Remember it will all be okay, and enjoy the whole day!

Remember walking into your senior year of high school?

It’s exciting, full of adventure, memories to make and life! It is a year to truly enjoy high school, maybe take too many electives and definitely have a few skips days 🤣
