Ohhhhhhh, they brought the laughter!
I first met Leslie at her daughters senior session is 2024. They were on vacation from Texas, and wanted some senior photos while at one of their favorite spots. I remember laughing so much with them. They are just naturally funny and fun to be around!
So when she reached out this summer, it was an immediate yes to a session with her extended family! And let me tell you, it was another fun time for sure.

It was so sweet of them to invite me to their vacation spot for a little bit. I hope they will always cherish these images from their trip with some of their favorite people!

Bring your grandparents and great grandparents to the extended family sessions. I can promise you, you’ll be so happy you do.
We laughed so hard, and caught a few sweet little moments too. It is so fun to meet more members of the family and see who acts like who. This fam was a ball of fun, and it started right here with these two!

I don't know why, but as I was editing their maternity images I couldn't help but think of this song. Their family is about to completely change into such a beautiful new stage of life. Welcoming a child is a big, scary, emotional, amazingly beauful thing. You grow so much as a person in such a little amount of time. Life literally never looks the same. You feel a love you could never have dreamed possible. You care about every little detail of a little person. And on and on. Life is just so much bigger, fuller of fun and love.
It is such a blessing that some of us are lucky enough to experience. And I for one cannot wait for these two to welcome their little girl soon!

Just imagine being this little guy.
He will never have to want for anything with these big sisters! It was so special getting to watch each of them love on him. This is one of those families we are all extremely blessed to know. They are precious!

To the ones still waiting to be a mom
To the ones caring for someone else’s children
To the ones that adopted
To the ones that foster
To the ones anticipating their first child’s arrival
To the ones still in the newborn cuddles
To the ones adding one more to the family
To the ones that have suffered the unimaginable loss of a child
To the ones with babies turning one
To the ones with children leaving the home
To the ones learning to parent without your sidekick
To the ones who have parented alone the whole time
To the ones with children needing extra care
To the ones becoming grandmas
To the ones blending families together
To the ones the love their daughter/son in law like their own
To the ones guiding adult children through life
To the ones that are aunts that mother just the same
To the ones mothering without their mother
To the ones in the thick of it
To the ones that long to hear the sounds of children in the home again

We are so lucky you are in our lives. We love you. We see you. We are in awe of you.

My original thought for the tea party minis was to capture a sweet moment or two for mamas. To provide an activity and just capture what happens.

And I am so happy with how they turned out! There was laughter, there was silly conversation and real moments.

Teaching daughters how to pour tea, fixing their hair, just being present. And I am so happy I got to be there to capture it.

Sometimes the silly minis us photographers offer don’t seem worth the money we ask for. But just imagine these girls looking back on these images with their sweet mama as they age. You can’t tell me they won’t cherish these!

My daughter turns double syllables next month. Seven creeping in seems so very big. She used to walk around holding one finger. Now I sometimes get to hold her whole hand if she’s not off running around.

I love when kids still give us a little reminder that they are still our babies. Holding our hand, wanting held, falling asleep cuddled up to us, etc. A gentle reminder they are still little and still want those moments with us. And how precious to slow down and soak those moments in.

She spent most of her day outside. Rummaging through the shop, doing chores, playing in the dirt. She spends a lot of evenings like that.
She's not afraid to get messy, as her poor clothes with show.

But when there's an opportunity to dress up? She's on it.
Play pretend? Immediately. Have a little tea party? She's game!

What a true gift it is to be her mommy. She loves Jesus fiercely. She loves others. She cares about people. She loves big, and she is so much fun!

And somehow I get to be her mommy with a front row seat to all the big things she will do in life.

Y'all...
You guys have been spoiling me lately! The sweetest, funnest sessions with the dreamiest light!
This beautiful couple made the drive out to our farm, and man oh man, l am so happy they did! It was a gorgeous evening!
