The Golden Pheasant, native to mountainous areas of China, is known for the bright yellow crest atop its head. The pictured pheasant, a female, is about 70 cm long, with her tail (not pictured) making up two thirds of the birds total length. The Golden Pheasant is fairly common, and can be bought for use as a house animal in almost any country.

The Victoria Crowned Pigeon is native to parts of New Guinea and, although it's rare, Indonesia. This majestic bird is a threatened species known for its unique white tipped crests and deep whooping call. It's name commemorates the British monarch, Queen Victoria.
