To restore this photo, I corrected the uneven fading on the left side, brought back the details lost when the photo was exposed to sunlight, and improved the overall sharpness.

This photo is of my Great-Great-Grandfather. He was born in 1817. To restore his photo, I removed the stains, reconstructed the areas of the screen that were missing, and brought back the detail that had faded

The original photo was kept rolled up in the attic. The heat dried it, and it became very fragile. When my client tried to unroll it, it broke into many pieces. I spent several days researching what I needed to do to be able to flatten it without breaking it into more pieces. Once I was sure that I was not going to damage the photo, I scanned the many pieces and positioned the different pieces in the right place. I started reconstructing the torn areas and sharpened it

I wanted https://www.aliciaphotography.com/ to be different: very simple, easy to navigate, and since memories are really important to me, I decided to use photos of my ancestors as samples, and share the story behind the photo, together with what I did to bring it back to life. To restore this old photo, I reconstructed the torn background areas, the baby’s right hand, sharpened it, and made the oval match my customer’s frame.
