Among the many lives I lead as a photographer is that of an architectural photographer within the Pools and Outdoor Living industry. What on the surface might appear as merely taking pictures of a project is, in fact, often no less than 40 hours committed to each and every project - sometimes 5 or 6 hours on a single image.

When you’re designing and/or building projects ranging anywhere from $250k to $1M + your commitment to presentation should exceed that of your competitors.

If anywhere in your mission statement exist the words ‘attention to detail’ be absolutely certain those you collaborate with share the same values...
..because quality matters.

One of my responsibilities as an architectural photographer is to help my clients win awards.

That starts with understanding the architecture. Finding the sight lines that explain the design. Showing symmetry, scale, material relationships and craftsmanship. And photographing the project at the time of day when all of those decisions come together.

But the value of those images doesn’t end when the award is announced.

The same photographs submitted for competition become portfolio pieces, website assets, social content, advertising, editorial submissions and sales tools.

One exceptional project can continue working for a builder or designer for years—provided it was photographed with that purpose in mind.

Congratulations to VueCustomPools on being named a Pebble Technology World’s Greatest Pools 2026 winner.

Great projects deserve great presentation.

And great presentation creates opportunity.

Can you imagine what a privilege it was to get called back to the project that really started it all for me? My first magazine cover, an opportunity to try out for the big leagues!

What was already a significant, much talked about project in our industry got an addition this last year that I had the privilege of capturing. Such a remarkable job by all parties involved. The attention to detail here is unmatched in my opinion.

Honored to be called to capture it.
