The Face of A Modern Goddess

There are NO pictures of women over 50 & 60 on IG.... Even 40 is a narrow category.
I searched today and I got a handful only. A very very small handful.
I’m 42 and all my friends are on IG. All of them, except for my gorgeous friend Marta who kicks ass in her big nationwide job, who looks 40, is 50 and acts maybe 16. I don’t have her picture to share but I’ve got another one - HELEN. My gorgeous friend Helen who recently turned 60 and rocks the womanhood with all the sensuality and fun like a queen.
And yet, there are no pictures of these women on social media.
I think that 40 is the most remarkable breakthrough point in a woman’s life. (I hear 50 and 60 are even better!) At 40 we become fearless, unstoppable, confident and generally don’t give many f***s. Life gets lighter and sweeter. Friendships get deeper and connections more meaningful. Life gains the depth similar to a depth of sound a musical instrument gains over time.
And yet we hide from aging. We hide from being mature, wise, over 40, over 50, over whatever.
No offense, I think that youth is amazing. I love photographing all ages. Young women have the innocence and hope that give an adult life a good jump start. And they are fun, and gorgeous and easy to work with. I love all my amazing models.
But c’mon Ladies over 40, don’t hide! I want to see your face. Your scars, your wisdom, your magic. Let’s fill social media platforms with women over 40, 50, 60, 70.... and let’s celebrate life in its full spectrum! ❤️

The belief that you can’t have it all is old news.
As a matter of fact, yes, you can have it all. The tricky part is in where you anchor yourself and what is the source of your power. .
If your anchor yourself is in the true self, the core of your being, the YOU that existed before your ego mind was created, then Sky is the limit. There are no boundaries in what you can create in your life. The reason for it is because creations that come from the universal source, or quantum field, expand and grow exponentially. The moment you tackle one area, another one follows. You succeed in business, your love life suddenly improves and so on.
The growth that happens is all encompassing, and it affects the entire arena of your life. There are no isolated problems in the quantum field. All is interconnected.
The old way was to address logically one area of your life at the time, and process it intellectually. But usually when one area starts growing, all other areas fall out of balance. It is because logical mind is a linear thinking beast and is not capable of solving multiple problems simultaneously. It’s similar to see-saw effect - one thing goes up, another thing goes down. .
How do we tap into the energy field of our being?
We get there by BEING.
Breathe in, breathe out, observe your thoughts, let them go, and FEEL. Feel the heck out of the process. Stay in feeling mode. Leave the mental processing behind. Practice as much as you can and soon enough, you will notice subtle changes in you. That’s where the adventure begins... .

Give yourself time...
When we walk slowly and persistently toward the big changes in our life, the journey rewards us with knowledge and strength to sustain the outcome. And the more we focus on the path, not the outcome, the more the goal changes and grows. It becomes an organic process that teaches us curiosity and surrender, and eventually leads us to our greatness.
You don’t need to know all the answers. The journey knows where it’s going to take you. All you need to do is start.

We shot this is the wilderness park close to Laguna Beach, CA. The tall grasses dried out, creating an amazing backdrop illuminated by late afternoon sun. What seemed like an ordinary path, slightly dry and hot, created this magical ambiance.
It made me wonder, how many times we walk by magic without noticing its existence. How many times we turn our attention to darkness and heaviness of life.
There are wonders and beauty in ordinary moments, magic longing to be noticed by us. Living from the place of beauty is a choice. It a calling to notice the blessing of the present moment, the opportunity to be curious about the world again. That’s how we all can start walking home, to the seat of our soul, the place where our greatness begins.

The process of finding your style in anything you create is paved with a lot of imitation of people’s work you admire. It’s normal. We go on IG, Pinterest etc and find what we like and we try to create something similar. External world serves us as a source of inspiration. This is great at the beginning of the process but the path to finding your true power, gift, talent, is in turning inward and creating from the space that is 100% YOU. Sure, use the skills you acquire, use your knowledge but please express YOU through your art. We have too many similar profiles on IG, too many same looking girls, coffee mugs, cakes, legs in front of the water/pool, girls holding the hand of the photographer from behind. Please, I’m begging you to be YOU. The world is saturated with too many copies of the same idea. Bring something fresh to the table.
We are scared to be original because in our confused minds we value popularity over quality and originality. We have to change that. If you are not expressing who you are 150%, the world grows poorer and poorer every day.
Be you, go create as you, forget the standards, forget what is popular. This is how you get to your inner power, this is how you polish the diamond that lives within you.

This is a picture taken during my phase of being inspired by Sue Bryce’s work. I learned a lot from her, I’ve taken many of her online workshops. I still love her work but I realized that there is something else in me that wants to be expressed. And so I let it out. My photography is a very intimate process between what flows through me, and what my subject/model is willing to show and give to the world. It’s a process of discovery and today I know that it’s the most valuable part of my creativity.

How often do we ask for change in our life, but remain inflexible about changing our own ways.... Mind tricks us into thinking that the world needs to change in order for us to find peace, fulfillment, happiness. It’s similar to looking for a car engine on the outside of the car, wanting to fix it.

The creator part of us knows that the world reflects the state of our being, conscious and unconscious, so the source of power is within. The engine for changes is within us. Turn inward, stay open and with loving and humorous approach take a good look at your mind. You are not broken, you just have been looking for solution and guidance in all the wrong places. Turn inward and you’ll see that the excellence exists within you. From there, you can create whatever your heart desires. ❤️
