Why hire an equine photographer for your session with horses? As an equestrian myself, I can offer you many perks for your session!

1) hands-on horse experience! Needing to run back to the barn to grab something? Let me hold your horse and give them love while you grab it! Horse feeling a little spicy? I’m not shying away. Need a leg up? I got you!

2) horse focused posing! People posing is the easy part. Have you ever tried to pose a 1,200 pound animal that doesn’t speak your language? I know the poses that will highlight you AND your horse. And we will pull out all the stops to get those ears UP!

3) I’ll likely be a photographer that will document most of your journey outside of your private session. I photograph many horse shows. We may get your relaxed bond at home but I’ll also get those photos that show you in action at your next show!

4) want some action shots? Perfect! I’ve done many different disciplines. I’ll capture that second barrel turn, the bend and frame of dressage, the liftoff over a jump, or that special knee action of the rack. I know what photos highlight the discipline you’re doing.

5) we can chat about horses the entire time and I know the jargon. Thrilled about your lead changes or accidentally got the wrong posting diagonal? Let’s talk about it!

I met Katelyn Reynolds many years ago. It’s kind of a funny story. I was going into a frozen yogurt shop and noticed a car with a horse sticker on it. The girls sitting at the table beside me were talking horses. I’m typically shy, but I’ll never be too scared to talk horses so I went over and introduced myself.
Katelyn and I have been friends ever since! Talking horses, giving advice, and offering words of encouragement.

Her sweet mare Reyna has been with her for a long while and she will be 24 years old this year. Katelyn has given her all to Reyna. I was so very privileged to snap some photos of them over the weekend. Katelyn was one of the winners of my photo giveaway in memory of my own heart horse, Blue.

It’s so important to take the photos with your horses. I had Blue for 15 years and only had one professional shoot with him. It’s a regret I still have to this day. I do plan on doing more giveaways in his honor so owners like Katelyn can have precious photos of their heart horses.

Riders are categorized by their show number, so click on your number at the top of the page and it should take you straight to just YOUR photos.

A covered arena is very difficult to shoot photos in due to the outside light becoming almost a backlight which creates shadowy subjects. I tried my very best to fix these issues. If you buy a photo and want additional editing, please don't hesitate to reach out! Only lighting fixes were done but I am happy to go back and do a full edit.

Unfortunately, I did miss some dressage tests. I was able to get everyone's stadium rounds though!

DCPC CT, I am still working on your photos. I took nearly 4,000 photos and I am at 1,500 left. I am hoping to get them up some time tomorrow.

Davis Creek Pony Club Combined Test and Dressage Show goers, thank you so much for having me out!

I have a bit of good news! I am working on your photos tonight! However, there is a bit of a caveat for allowing you all to skip my line ;) .

I normally post fully unedited photos and edit after photos are purchased. I have decided to forego this for this show in particular. The trade off is that you are going to have some fairly basic editing. I am not going to be editing anything out, just fixing lighting. The reason for this is simply because shooting in a covered arena is difficult. I feel for these photos to really be reflective of my work it is important I do some basic edits first to fix some lighting issues.

If you would like the background decluttered please message me and I will be happy to do that for you! I will make another post when photos are up!

I have a special request! I just ask that you take a quick survey for me so I know exactly what my customers are looking for and value most in their show photography.

This new system I've implemented is working out great as far as waiting until photos are purchased before editing. However, I am a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to my edits and I have noticed most people have been posting the unedited versions my website is sending. I am totally fine with this, no worries there. Although, I have figured out a fix for the website.

I want to make sure that I am utilizing my editing time wisely and I am not spending hours upon hours meticulously editing when the things I am spending so long editing out isn't much of a concern.
