A wedding day full of personal details, coastal charm, and a little storybook romance.

Riley and Ryan’s wedding at Shepherd’s Run in Rhode Island is featured on Inspired by This, and I’m so happy to share it with you.

From Riley wearing her mother’s wedding gloves to the garden ceremony, thoughtful nods to Rhode Island, and a checkered dance floor, every detail felt personal to them and the place they call home.

It was a beautiful celebration to document, and I’m grateful to see their story shared.

I’m incredibly honored to share that I’ve been named one of Loverly’s Best Photographers for 2026–2027!

It’s an incredible feeling to see 11 years of work, growth, and countless stories documented recognized by a publication I’ve long respected. To have my own work recognized in this way feels both surreal and deeply meaningful.

Photography has always been about more than making beautiful images for me. It’s about being trusted with the people, relationships, and fleeting moments that matter most.

To every couple and family who has invited me into those moments, trusted my eye, let me be part of your celebrations, and shared your lives with me, thank you. This recognition is a reflection of those relationships as much as it is my work.

And to the incredible planners, vendors, and creative partners I’ve had the privilege of working alongside, thank you for trusting me, collaborating with me, and continually inspiring me.

I love a cake cutting. It’s one of those wedding traditions that so many couples choose to keep and yet it never looks the same twice.

Maybe you take it seriously. Maybe you feed each other a bite. Maybe you laugh too hard to make it through without getting a little frosting on each other.

There’s something nice about having a few familiar traditions woven into the day, while still giving yourselves permission to make them your own. It’s one of those moments where you can just have fun with it.

My son’s birthday is coming up, and somehow another year has passed. I look at him and can still see all the versions of him that came before, the little boy he was, the things he used to say, the way he used to fit into my arms. And at the same time, I know that this version of him is already becoming something new, even as I’m still living alongside it.

Time keeps doing that. It moves forward whether we’re ready or not, quietly turning what feels familiar into memory.

And I think what I’m starting to understand is that it’s rarely the obvious moments that stay with us.

These people. This little life. The moments that don’t announce themselves as important while they’re happening.

Maybe that’s also why I’ve always been drawn to photographs that aren’t necessarily the “big” moments. The ones that bring you back to something real and make you realize, years later, that it was never ordinary at all.

Time is moving whether we stop to notice it or not.

I’m trying to notice.

And I suppose that’s what I hope for the people I photograph too, not just the milestones, but the in-between moments that quietly make up a life.

The honest version of how I photograph a wedding.

The portraits are the one part of the day I'll gently guide. I'll help you find beautiful light, offer just enough direction to help you feel comfortable, and create space for genuine connection. My goal is that these become the photographs you'll return to for decades.

The rest of the day is different.

As you're getting ready with the people you love, walking down the aisle, wiping away happy tears during the speeches, or losing yourselves on the dance floor, I step back. I'm watching for the moments you won't realize are unfolding until you see them later. My job is to anticipate them, notice the light, and preserve them as they happened.

For me, the balance matters.

You deserve portraits that feel timeless and intentional, and you deserve a wedding gallery that truthfully captures the emotion of your day, not a collection of moments recreated for the camera.

Stiff photos aren’t about awkward couples, they’re about feeling like you have to perform for the camera. My approach is to give just enough direction during portraits that you can stop thinking about posing and start being present with each other.

Castle Hill on the Crane Estate, Ipswich MA - Italian gardens and the Atlantic below.
Boston Public Library - An Italian courtyard in the middle of Boston.
The Omni Mount Washington, Bretton Woods NH - a grand 1902 resort under the White Mountains.
Misselwood, Beverly MA - a coastal estate with gorgeous architecture.
Tupper Manor, Beverly MA - Georgian charm and a fountain garden.
Shepherd’s Run, South Kingstown RI - a vineyard with sprawling gardens.
The Mansion on Turner Hill, Ipswich MA historic, and a little bit Gatsby.

Save this for your venue search. And if an old-world New England wedding is the dream, I’d love to hear about it.

First time anyone had seen them since the church and the whole cocktail hour at The Mansion on Turner Hill lifted a phone at the same second. I stayed at the bottom of the stairs for this one. Sometimes the best photo is of everyone else trying to take it.
