It’s love, pride, joy, nostalgia- All wrapped into one raw, honest moment.

2 weeks ago, I got to take part in this couples beautiful wedding! But then I realized I never posted their engagement photos.
Two things I loved about this session- A. We got to escape the cold and B. we got to switch up those standard engagement photos!
Engagement photos are all about you and if you are the type of couple to hang out an arcade instead of frolic around a park- that's what we do!

My Story

Hey there! My name is Maria and I am a fun loving, adventure taking, fedora wearing photographer based in Montgomery County, MD specializing in lifestyle and documentary sessions.

As I was growing up, my dad took pictures of everything. When I became an adult, I stumbled across a collection of hundreds of photographs from my childhood- images that showed the heart of our family. In 2014 I married the love of my life and the military packed us up and moved us across the country from Eastern Iowa, where I was born and raised, to Southern California, and now to Maryland. Art has always been a passion of mine. I have loved creating things for as long as I can remember. When I finally got my hands on a camera for the first time, It was an instant love connection. As I became a Mom, that passion grew as I learned to capture the things I loved most- my own family.

My goal is to create a story of genuine emotions during my sessions. I strive to capture art and not just your traditional portraits. So much story can be told by the breath following a kiss, the whisper of a child, or even the wrinkled hands of someone you have loved your entire life. And every single one of those moments and details deserve to be captured and turned into beautiful art.
