We’re thrilled to announce that two exceptional businesses in our community have been awarded Equity Fund grants from the PFund Foundation! We’d like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the Pfund Foundation for their ongoing support of LGBTQ+ individuals and businesses across the Midwest, fostering empowerment, growth, and resilience.

📸 Jovisuals: Founded by Jo Allen (they/he), this photography business captures and celebrates diversity, especially for LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC communities. Jovisuals is more than just photos; it’s a community hub with events like Pride & Soul Skate Night and the Black & Q***r Art Market.

🌈 Bubble’s Boba Tea- Jen Hart (she/her) started her boba tea shop to create a safe space for cultural exchange and community connection. A fourth-generation Mexican-American and bisexual woman, Jen’s mission is to foster inclusivity and unity through the joys of boba tea, celebrating "equali-tea" and "diversi-tea."

so many pop-ups! here’s a breakdown on how you can get involved:

1. I’ll be doing a community mosaic piece at Riverview Park Concerts & Events.
Make sure you stop by my booth to contribute to the mosaic! This event is free and open to the public. Don’t miss out on the free concert too!

2. Snag a coffee at the The Slow Down Coffee Co. and check out one of the mosaic pieces I’ll be putting up next week 🧑🏽‍🎨

3. Stop by Highland Park/Oak Park Neighborhood for a dispersed art market and mosaic scavenger hunt! OH, and did I mention there are prizes to win from local businesses? See you soon👋🏽

I had an absolute blast working with Jamie and photographing THE COLLECTIVE! It’s such a beautiful space in the Highland Park area so be sure to check it out 🫶🏽

The shop was recently photographed by the very talented Jovisuals | , local Black Trans artist + photographer and WOW I am just in awe of them. There is such tremendous talent in our community, especially within the LGBTQ+ community, this is your friendly reminder to support local artists this holiday season - custom pieces are such a great gift 🤍

🏳️‍⚧️TRANS LIVES RALLY🏳️‍⚧️

I've spent the last three weeks planning this wonderful event to celebrate Transgender Day of Visibility (March 31st). Please join me and a few other coalitions as we discuss how violence and discrimination overlap in the trans community. There is no justification for the bill's failure to account for the voices of trans lives when it was passed into law. Trans people in lowa have been silenced, dismissed, and targeted by these anti-trans bills. I'd like to centralize the voices of trans youth in this space, but I need assistance connecting with those that are interested!

So, how can you help now?
1. Reshare this post
2. Forward this to a trans activist, athlete, or trans youth's family member who would like to speak at the rally
3. Attend the rally to show your support and actively listen to those speaking

We deserve to be included. We deserve to be heard. And we deserve the right to be included in social activities and spaces that affirm our gender identity. If you're interested in speaking at this event, please contact me via email or dm!
