When I was little I wanted to be an artist. I have always loved going to museums and looking at pictures. I started taking pictures with disposable cameras in the 90s and have always owned a camera. I am so happy when I take pictures for others. It is my true passion and with every passing year I can see my growth. Photography takes passion. Not only for the art aspects but for people and being able to give them something that will pass on for generations.

We have a new member of our family! Meet Mimi, my youngest daughter's kitten. Isn't she the cutest!?
Maybe you guys remember Benny, our other cat. I took some fine art photos when he was a kitten as well, you know I had to do the same with the new baby!

So, what exactly is a fine art photography session?

Fine art photography is a little different from a traditional portrait session. Instead of simply capturing a photo, the goal is to create an image that feels like a piece of art. Everything is thoughtfully planned. From the styling, wardrobe, posing, lighting, colors, backdrop, and little details that help bring the vision together.

These sessions are often more posed or "posed candid" with a focus on creating something unique and timeless. I love using beautiful textures, dreamy lighting, rich colors, and artistic editing to turn your portraits into something you could truly imagine hanging on your wall as artwork.

Fine art sessions can be designed for children, families, maternity, couples, or even just for yourself. They can be soft and whimsical, bold and dramatic, elegant, vintage, fairytale-inspired, or completely unique to your vision.

I especially love golden hour sessions in the fall. There is something about that soft evening light, the changing colors, and the way everything feels a little more calm and warm. It creates such a beautiful setting for those sweet, genuine moments that happen naturally between the pretty portraits.

I seriously can’t believe it’s already time to start planning FALL sessions! This year I will only have 9 spots available, so if you’ve been waiting for fall photos, don’t wait too long!

I’ll be offering 2 weekend days + 2 weeknight days at 3 beautiful outdoor locations around the Twin Cities.

🍁 $265 FALL MINI SESSION
• 40 minute outdoor session
• Up to 4 people
• 10 professionally edited images
• Print release included
• Images delivered through Google Drive within 20–35 days (not including holidays)
• You can provide a flash drive, or wooden flash drives with my logo are available for $15
Additional people: $15 each
Each additional person includes 1 additional edited image.
Pets are welcome! $10 additional.

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING IMPORTANT INFORMATION BEFORE BOOKING ⬇️
• If it rains, we will reschedule your session to another available date/time.
• A $60 non refundable retainer is required to book your spot and goes toward your total balance. The retainer must be paid as soon as we choose your time. Due to the high volume of messages I receive, I cannot hold spots without the retainer being paid.
• Retainers are non refundable but may be transferred one time within 3 months. It is your responsibility to contact me if you need to use the transfer.
• Please only book if you fully intend to attend your session. Last minute cancellations will result in a complete forfeiture of your retainer. A minimum of 24 hours notice is required to reschedule.
• I answer messages in the order I receive them and only respond to a few at a time so I can make sure I don’t accidentally double-book anyone. Please be patient with me! ❤️
• Families larger than 7 people will have an additional fee. Please message me for details.
• Extra edited images are $15 each.
All images are professionally edited by me and delivered digitally. A print release is included with your package.

Another year older… and somehow I’m getting dangerously close to 40. 😭😂
I’m not sure how this happened, because mentally I’m still somewhere in my 20s wondering what I’m going to be when I grow up. But here I am, slowly approaching 40 like a sad little clown at my own birthday party.

All jokes aside, I’m incredibly grateful for another year, for the people I love, and for this little photography business that has allowed me to create, grow, and capture so many beautiful memories for others.

So here’s to another year of life, laughter, creativity… and pretending I’m totally fine with getting older.

Garden minis have been going magically!!

The first day of the Dakota County Fair, and of course, I go running in with anticipation to see if I got anything. Walking up to the art building, my stomach is in knots and my heart is racing. There’s that little voice in my head wondering, Did I do well enough? Did anyone else see what I see in these images?

I walk in and see my pictures in the distance, covered in ribbons.

As I get closer, I start seeing the awards I won.

1st Place + GRAND CHAMPION on one!!
1st Place + Award of Excellence on another!!
And 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place on several others!

And I cried.

I know this is a small county fair, in a big country, in an even bigger world. There will be people who never know about these little ribbons hanging on a wall in Dakota County.

But that isn't the point.
It's huge to me!

Because every time I receive an award, it reminds me that the years I've spent learning, experimenting, making mistakes, trying again, and pushing myself to create something beautiful are worth it.

And honestly, the biggest reason this means so much to me is YOU!

Every family, every baby, every senior, every milestone, every person who trusts me enough to capture a little piece of their life. I don't take that trust lightly.

These awards don't make me want to stop and celebrate where I am. They make me want to keep learning. Keep growing. Keep challenging myself. Keep finding new ways to make your photographs even more beautiful and meaningful.

Because when you step in front of my camera, I want to give you more than just a pretty picture. I want to give you something you'll look back on years from now and still feel something when you see it.

So yes, these ribbons may just be hanging on a wall at a small county fair.

But to me, they represent years of work, a love for this art, and a reminder that I'm on the right path.
And I'm so incredibly grateful that I get to keep growing as an artist while creating memories for all of you.
