Since I was a little girl, photography has been a part of my life - a hobby and a passion that I share with my father. I was lucky enough to attend the same high school where my Dad AKA Doc was the director of the art department for decades. But, like a lot of hobbies and passions, life gets in the way. After graduation, my camera was thrown to the wayside, forgotten about, and began attracting du
st. It wasn't until the birth of my amazing daughter in 2010 that I blew off that dust and began upgrading. This little girl renewed my hidden talent and filled my heart with joy. She pushes me to be a better photographer, a better mother, and a better person each and everyday. WHY DID I CHOOSE SONBEAM STUDIOS TO BE MY COMPANY NAME? While helping my Dad at the age of three and being one of four daughters, my Dad (wishing he had better luck at creating a son) asked me, “Brittany, are you my Son?” I replied with no hesitation, “No Daddy, I’m your Sonshine!” My nickname has been Sonshine ever since. Twenty six years later, after announcing my pregnancy and the baby's gender to my sweet parents, my Dad exclaimed, "She is going to be your Sonbeam!" In 2010 I gave birth to my ray of light, my inspiration, my Sonbeam.
