Sharing some recent fine art portraits of my kiddos ❤ First up (fittingly) is our firstborn, Charlie.
This kiddo is part rambunctious, part solemn and quiet, and 100% sarcastic. SOOO much sarcasm 😃 But when he's not climbing the exterior of the house, or making deadpan remarks about hating chocolate, he's doing something quiet and thoughtful, often near a family member. He likes to read whatever my high school students are reading so he can discuss their lessons: he watched two hours of 'Hamlet' with me tonight, stopping only to handmake Christmas decorations. He loves to learn, but hates school, and boy does that break my heart. His teachers all tell me that he'll do great things one day, but I only care if he does kind things.
He's obsessed with climbing trees and will take it upon himself to remove dead branches as if he were doing a public service, regardless of whose property this tree is on. We couldn't ever get him to sleep in a bed, so he sleeps in a hammock every night. 😆 Cheers to Charlie, who would buy a truckful of Christmas lights and hang them all himself if we let him. ❤
