The kind of days that feel big while you’re in them… and even bigger once they’ve passed.

So for the next few months, I’m offering something a little different:

The Storytelling Sessions

Delivered within two weeks

If you have something coming up and you’re thinking, “I don’t want to forget this”… I would love to be there.

There’s this idea that doulas are only for moms planning an unmedicated birth.

But the truth is, doulas are for support. Period.

Whether you’re planning an epidural, a scheduled C-section, an induction, a VBAC, or you have absolutely no idea what you want yet, having someone in your corner can make such a difference.

Research shows that doula support is associated with lower rates of C-sections, shorter labors, lower anxiety, and higher rates of breastfeeding success. Why? Because when you feel informed, supported, and cared for, birth can feel a whole lot less scary.

Behind many people who document birth and is a dedicated doula, there is a family who lovingly puts up with a mom who cries at births, talks about labor way too much, and has approximately 47,000 photos and video clips on her camera roll.

These are sweet people. The ones who support me, cheer me on, and remind me why family matters so much in the first place.

I hope your Easter was full of the people you love most, a celebration of the resurrection, a lot of candy, and even one decent family photo. 💛

One of the biggest misconceptions about birth photography is that it’s “just pictures.”

No way.

It’s the expression on your partner's face when they realized what you were doing.

It’s the tears.

It’s the first cry.

It’s the way your baby curled into your chest.

It’s proof that you did something extraordinary.

It is beautiful, chaotic, emotional, and exhausting all at once, which often leaves our birth memories a total blur. Having it documented means you get to go back and see the parts you missed while you were busy doing the hardest, most incredible work of your life.

Am I the only one who spent hours during pregnancy pouring over those thick baby name books, searching for THE one?

It's exciting to say each name out loud, imagining who this little person might be, which would fit them best, and then seeing if Dad would go for it. It's a big, meaningful decision.

Now it looks a little different. You may employ AI to find names that fit the siblings' names, or it’s saved lists on your phone, but that feeling is still the same. The quiet excitement of choosing a name for someone you haven’t met but already love so deeply.

How did you choose your baby’s name?
Did you always know what it would be?
Is there a story behind it?

I love hearing how families land on the name that becomes part of their story. Tell me yours in the comments 🐦
