Good morning! It was calling for rain so I waited for it to pass over to take our beach walk later in the morning.

When I arrived 15 minutes before sunrise the sky had a pink hue. Within minutes it became a brilliant firey red. Moments later it faded to a grey overcast sky. Before I finished my walk there was a light drizzle and I was glad that I was done.

I took a picture of the dead starfish that I kept and I don't know why I didn't get a picture of the living one that I recused. But that is how it goes, some make it and some don't. I always turn them over to look to see if their feet are moving. The one that I kept you could tell it had been dead for awhile. Once, I brought it home, placed it on the top sheet of a broiling pan to allow air flow on the bottom starfish. Then, put it in the preheated 200⁰ oven. Turned off the oven to cool down on it's own accord. This allowed it to completely dehydrate. I have tried several different techniques but I have found that this way is the best way to persevere the color.

Here's a preview with one of my favorites from this morning's sunrise beach walk photo shoot. I am not normally an under the pier photo opportunity person. I take them because I know that I have follwers that like for me to post them. But! There is always an exception to every rule. I love this still shot so much because of the turbulent wave action and the amazing cloud formation is spatacular. Also, this angle of the pier adds contrast to frame the picture.

Good morning! It was overcast with a light drizzle at sunrise. However, just minutes before the sky was blazing red. I wish I would've taken a video of it. Fortunately, I did get still shots of the brilliant picturesque view. Be sure to look for the full photo shoot post that will be up by noon. Those minutes just before sunrise had an explosion of color. I knew that the best view of it would be over the Bouge Sound. So, before heading to the beach I made a quick pit stop at the Sound Side Pier. Next, I made my way over to the DoubleTree pier. Then, I took the remainder of my sunrise beach walk on Pine Knoll Shores beach.

Good morning! Now that The Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament has ended and there is no procession of boats headed out to sea it is back to my normal daily sunrise beach walks. It was an absolute beauty this morning. The full photo shoot post that started at the Sound Side Pier. Let me tell you, the colorful reflections of the sky on the water is worth your time to come back to view them. I will tag top fans in the comments so that you will not miss seeing the post.
