They are out there!!
Get out on the trail and you might just see the illusive Rocky Mountain Elk.
Storytime: I just came back a quick trip from Colorado. I actually got to see the full size of true Rocky Mountain Elk. Although the Elk in the Wichitas are from the same genetic strain you can clearly see a size difference in the two. But nonetheless, the instincts and stature are the very same. You will often find Elk where you least expect them. Most of the time you will never see them before they smell you first. This time of the season the bachelors are in big herds and the cows are preparing to drop their calves in the next coming months! There have been a lot of hikers posting videos and photos of these awesome creatures. Get out on the trail and take some pics for yourself!
