My office a few nights back, preparing for a new moon and yet another crack @ . I was earning a Master's degree at the time and couldn't dedicate the necessary hours to sort it all out.
I earned that degree, and a new firmware update resolved a triggering problem with my Canon R5, so I'm
OK to go.... I'm OK to go...... I'm OK to go.... (if you know, you know)
I have a Sky-Watcher Star Adventurer 2i and added an ASIAIR Plus guiding gadget to increase the odds for some spectacular deep sky imaging. Not sure how to balance my Sigma long lens on the celestial mount, but that would be a 1200mm f/13 (?) lens using a 2x Extender or 600mm f/6.3. I am Plate Solving to within 1° but here, I'm stuck. I don't know how to find my celestial object and slew to it with GoTo, sort of a critical skill to have for success.
Around here, The Heart of the Milky Way is at it's peak in May/June so Subscribe and Stay Tuned.
This was my very first, unaided, 30 second exposure of the Heart of the Milky Way. It may also be my first astro-image with my Sigma 14mm f/2.8 DG HSM Art lens purpose purchased for Milky Way photography.
Child's play, really.
