Taylor Evans of Stylishly Taylored is a Baltimore-based blogger and PhD candidate at Johns Hopkins creating powerful content at the intersection of style and science. When she told me she was interested in creating photos to commemorate her years of living in a beautiful studio apartment in Baltimore, I was already excited—when she mentioned that it gets the most perfect direct sunlight, my excitement level skyrocketed. We photographed three different outfits, playing with the triangles of light beaming onto the hardwood floors and walls punctuated with old picture holes, and I could not be more obsessed with what we created together.

I had the pleasure of photographing Gwen and Emmett’s small at-home ceremony this winter after their original wedding plans were sidelined. We met up again a few weeks ago at Glen Ellen Farm, their original wedding venue, to photograph them in the wedding outfits they never got to wear. It was now or never to get to wear them—at the end of the gallery you can see why!—and even though it was a windy and chilly morning, they braved it beautifully and I am in love with what we captured!

It is always such an honor to photograph a proposal, but this one is particularly dear to my heart. Christian messaged me on Instagram, and we worked together with the wonderful staff at the Line Hotel in Adams Morgan in secret for a few weeks to pull off the evening. I was hiding on the rooftop, playing from my wireless speaker a playlist Christian had sent me earlier, when he and Tiffany walked up after their dinner at Brothers and Sisters (she under the pretense the staff wanted to show her the view for her birthday). Tiffany was blown away and I don’t think any of us could stop smiling!

We met at Loch Raven Reservoir last October to walk through the glorious, vibrant autumn foliage for their engagement session. I loved the casual coziness that their first look lent to the woods and the effortless elegance their second lent to the lake as the sun set around us. They are getting married in June and I could not be more excited to photograph them again!

Because we never got to take couple, family and wedding party portraits at their original date for April 2020—they pivoted to a small, intimate ceremony that day—I met up with them and their close friends and family on a November day to celebrate with them all over again. I loved seeing everyone and getting to relive these special moments with them, from the moment Clare and Ben first see each other in their original wedding outfits to a recreation of their backyard ceremony moment. It was such a beautiful day and a wonderful way to celebrate the marriage of these two amazing humans all over again!

Sarah (Fiftytwothursdays) and her sister Laura grew up learning to take care of the horses on her parents’ farm in Virginia, and photographing the two of them and Sarah’s niece, Maddie, on Laura's Warrenton horse farm was a beautiful tribute to that childhood—as well as an opportunity to create some of the most honest and soft and lovely photographs I think we’ve ever made together. >>http://emmaweissphoto.com/blog1/sarah-editorial-portraits-virginia-farm

Rachel and Dave’s original wedding plans—as you might guess—had to shift significantly this year. While they postponed their larger celebration, I was able to meet them in June for a short but beautiful ceremony in front of the Towson Courthouse. I grew up in Towson, and would never have guessed that Towson Hot Bagels or Kyodai Sushi Bar could look so chic until Rachel and Dave stepped in front!

The Klines moved next door to my family’s home a few years ago and instantly became family. Rob and Lauren are quick to laughter, love to cook, easygoing, hilarious, loyal and kind, and we’ve had the privilege of watching Barrett and Everly continue to grow into the sweetest, brightest, most intelligent and loving humans. Most memorable to me are all of the summer nights in our backyards, talking over the chain link fence and sending over samples of the meals that we’re cooking, while Barrett and Everly float happily from house to house.

Some moments from Jenna and Florian’s late July engagement session! We hiked up through the Catoctin Mountains in western Maryland and reached Chimney Rock just in time for the sun’s last moments on the horizon. Sarah, the sweetest dog you’ll ever meet, made it up the mountain like a champion, never hesitating to ask for kisses from her parents when we stopped for a photo.

So excited to have Jillian, Bejan and their ridiculously cute and stylish pupper Marbles on the blog today! We wandered Georgetown on an uncharacteristically warm November day, chatting about bagels, following Marbles, and finding the classic Georgetown murals and houses. These two are beautiful and I'm so happy to share their engagement session!
