Fall Mini Sessions are some of my favorites each year. Slightly overwhelming, loads to prep, and pregnancy brain on full force this year...but it’s still so rewarding to do these for these awesome families! I can’t wait for the rest of the month šŸ

It’s been a wild couple of months! From social media breaks, to toddler sleep regressions and major baby bump growth (updates on that coming soon!). It’s been crazy, but mostly awesome. But now, I have tons to catch up on sharing so buckle up and get ready for some sweet baby cuteness! šŸ’™

A couple months ago, I submit some of my work to my first photography contest. I didn’t expect much because literally thousands of people do, with even more submissions. But I actually made it to round 11 out of 12/finals, received 91 favorites, and 2 of my photos made it to the top 10% in their category! It was so much fun getting to vote for all my favorites as well because there’s so much talent out there.

Anyway, all this to say thank you to all of you! If I didn’t have you, I wouldn’t have had anything to submit. Your wonderful faces made this possible for me. So thank you ā¤ļø

I feel like so much has happened this year (which is flying by all of a sudden), and yet days go by kind of slow. Is it just me and my pregnant self? Haha
Anyway, I’ve been failing to share on here, so here’s a few from an outdoor homebirth I was invited to attend. Laboring outdoors feels so natural, so normal. The breeze is your fan (only, no one has to hold it for you), the sun shining down to bring warmth, and the fresh air to keep you calm. It’s truly an incredible experience.

Yes, couldn’t have said it better myself! šŸ’•

If you’re considering hiring a birth photographer right now: read this!

The world is really uncertain right now and we get that. Most cities are in quarantine and most hospitals are only allowing 1 visitor in the room during delivery.

Honestly, birth photographers are taking things day by day just like everyone else! As always, birth is unpredictable but absolutely worth it to capture your baby’s birth day!

But, did you know most birth photographers are still booking due dates for late summer/fall and winter?

A lot of birth photographers are also giving credits towards newborn and other sessions if they can’t be at your hospital birth.

Your birth plans might look different right now, but your photographer is doing anything and everything possible to get you the photos of your baby you’re dreaming of!

Just like always, ask your birth photographer ā€œWhat happens if you miss my birth or aren’t allowed into the room?ā€ to open that conversation!

Personally, I’d rather secure my favorite birth photographer and hope for the best than miss out because I waited too long and they’re booked when things are back to normal ā¤ļø

I've documented 3 births so far in my birth photography journey, and each one has been so special. I cannot properly express the love and gratitude I feel towards my mommas. Not only did they trust me enough to allow me into their most sacred space...but they wanted me there. They believed that my presence would have a positive effect on their journey to meeting their sweet, new babe. And I can't get over how amazingly humbling that is.

I love all births. Hospital births, home births, birth center births (which I haven't done yet, so...šŸ˜‰) it doesn't matter to me. Regardless of where you birth, your experience is going to be unique in many ways. I'm just excited that I have the opportunity and privilege to document these moments that I know you'll love and appreciate for years to come. (Plus, now you'll have beautiful visuals to go along with your verbal/written birth story! More people want to hear about it than you might think.)

This homebirth was something special for me. It was my first, so it will always hold such a sweet spot in my heart. I'll be sharing a couple sneaky peeks over the next few days, and I hope you can see the beauty in homebirths too. And you'll get to see a momma labor so peacefully and beautifully. I'm still in awe of her strength! ā¤ļø
