Stilettos N' Spurs

Stilettos N' Spurs Whether you are rocking stilettos or spurs I offer pageant coaching from the stage, to the dirt, and everywhere in between.

As a current judge, certified personal development coach, and former Miss Idaho Rodeo USA winner, I have the skills and experience necessary to guide you down the trail of pageant success. I specialize in interview skills, stage presence, body language, self-development, and modeling. As a published author and nationally qualifying public speaker, I have a passion for writing speeches and I am abl

e to teach girls how to best execute them to show off their personality. I set up mock interviews with local judges for the girls I coach, go over good sportsmanship like behavior (because in this arena reputation is everything) and I help you achieve the perfect competition head shot by setting you up with the best pageant photographer in the area, HK photography. My goal is to help each girl develop the confidence and skill sets needed not only to win that coveted crown but to ensure her success in her future work field and throughout her life. That's what pageants are all about and that is why I love what I do. I would be privileged to have the opportunity to work with you.

Looking forward to this exciting new chapter as the War Bonnet Round Up Royalty Director!

We are so excited to officially introduce our War Bonnet Round Up Royalty Court for 2026, but first, we'd like to introduce the woman leading the way: our new Royalty Director, Shannon Dooley!

Shannon is no stranger to the War Bonnet Round Up. She was a Coca-Cola Cowgirl in the 90s and went on to serve as Miss War Bonnet Round Up for two years in the early 2000s. As a kid, she competed in barrel racing, pole bending, and goat tying during the War Bonnet pre-rodeo entertainment, and she later served as a War Bonnet flag girl. In 2021, the Board honored her as a Legend of the War Bonnet.

Shannon brings years of experience in the rodeo queen world as a competitor, judge, coach, and clinician, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to have her leading our royalty program.

Stay tuned! We can't wait to introduce you to our extraordinary 2026 court beginning TOMORROW! 👑

Our first-ever Miss Rodeo America has headed to Heaven. Marilyn Scott Freimark was born on October 15, 1936 in Cheyenne, Wyoming, and made history as the inaugural Miss Rodeo America in 1955 after sweeping the pageant.

The face of our sport four years before we even had our first NFR passed peacefully at 89 on April 4. But not before living a memorable, full life and raising a beautiful family.

At that original Miss Rodeo America Pageant in 1955, which was held in Casper, Marilyn won all three categories of the competition, which included horsemanship, personality and appearance. She wore that first MRA crown proudly, toured the country as our leading lady and rodeo ambassador, and made lifelong connections and friendships with generations of our rodeo family.

Marilyn graduated from Cheyenne High School, and studied business and mass communications at Colorado State University. Beyond our rodeo arena, she was a talented athlete who excelled at tennis, swimming, polo, marksmanship and ice skating. The natural beauty also competed in the 1954 Miss Universe Pageant.

Marilyn married Paul Painter, and they raised four children to love ranching and rodeo like we do near Buffalo, South Dakota. Marilyn later married Dr. Lyle Freimark, in 1985, and made her home in Spearfish.

In honor of her lifelong contributions to our sport, Marilyn was inducted into the National Cowgirl Hall of Fame in Fort Worth, Texas. Beloved in her golden years as Grandma M by her own family and young people in many others, Marilyn was a great cheerleader in all sports and aspects of life. I just today learned that professional breakaway roper Joey Williams, who’s a four-time National Finals Breakaway Roping qualifier, is one of Marilyn’s grandchildren. And Riley Routier, the husband of six-time NFR barrel racer Jessica Routier, is Marilyn’s grandson.

The life of Marilyn Scott Freimark will be celebrated at 1 p.m. on April 14 at Leverington Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche, South Dakota.

Ride high, cowgirl. Love to all who were lucky enough to know you.

Sometimes rodeo queens get a bad rap. People roll their eyes, make jokes, or assume it’s all about sparkly shirts and pretty pictures, but today I watched something that reminded me just how ridiculous those stereotypes are.

I sat and watched my 15-year-old daughter walk into offices and boardrooms with CEOs and GMs of major companies and hold her own. She confidently explained sponsorship levels, outlined return on investment, and carried herself with a level of professionalism that many adults twice her age struggle with.

Not many teenagers can do that. But these are the skills rodeo queening teaches. They learn how to interview, how to think on their feet, how to speak to anyone from a classroom full of kids to a room full of executives, and how to represent their community with grace.

So mock the sequins and big hair if you want, but after what I saw today, I’ll proudly say this: rodeo queening is building strong, capable, intelligent young women who can walk into any room and absolutely shine with or without the rhinestones.

Many of them will grow into the CEOs and leaders the next generation of rodeo queens will one day be pitching to. You won’t be laughing then. 😉

Some may say my pageant coaching techniques are questionable, but I say they’re effective.
Hand placement wrong? Nerf gun.
Filler word? Nerf gun.
😂 (All in good fun - this is my daughter and we were both laughing.)

Update 8/28/2024

Per Veterinarian Dr Gregg Veneklasen of Timber Creek Veterinary Hospital in Canyon, Texas / Reported by Kendra Santos

Early reporting that many of the Beutlers’ horses were accidentally fed cattle feed is false, according to VeneKlasen.

“What these horses got was actually a horse feed mix with a huge amount of the cattle drug monensin (brand name Rumensin) in it,” VeneKlasen said. “This was a tragic case of HUMAN ERROR somewhere along the line, because tiny amounts of monensin is poison to horses. It kills them.

Monensin is used in some cattle feed, but this amount in this horse feed delivered to the Beutlers would have killed cattle, too.

“Much is known about what has happened here that cannot yet be told. But the bottom line on this story is that it’s an important one to tell, so this never happens to anyone else. I will say this: Never buy horse feed from a mill that makes cattle feed. Period. Please quote me on that. Every horse that ate this feed is dead.

The only bucking mare still alive is (NFR bucker) Black Kat, because she was at my place (Timber Creek Veterinary Hospital in Canyon, Texas; that’s her in this picture) when this feed was delivered. The only Killer Bee baby that is still alive refused to eat the feed.

Tenn Texas Prayer Warriors please continue to pray for Beutler & Son Rodeo Co., and all those who have stepped in to investigate and find the cause and now we pray for ways to prevent this from ever happening again.

--------------------------

Tenn Texas Prayer warriors please lift up our friends of Beutler & Son Rodeo Co.

They are now dealing with a huge loss of livestock and we ask that you all say prayer for all the Beutler Crew and family we know those horses were there way of life.

* Please note: our understanding is that the wrong type of feed (cattle feed with rumensin) was mistakenly delivered or distributed to livestock that should not consume it, deadly outcomes due to the toxicity it becomes in Equine.

* If this was a COMPANY or BRAND PRODUCT issue there would be a letter of recall enforced immediately to prevent other deaths. That has not been received as of 8/27/2024 12:57 pm (CT)

* Human Error seems to be a huge discussion.

*No EVIDENCE has been brought forward in this ongoing situation, we have received many details but clarity is coming. As with any investigation it takes time, the veterinarians attending to the situation are working to try to save livestock while finding a solution for this to never happen again.

Without a doubt truth will be prevailed and the Beutler Family will make a statement, all we ask is for prayers and patience in what this family is going through right now. This is their way of life, and has been for over 90+ years.

Over 40 horses have died due to possible contaminated feed. We have not confirmed brand of feed. The numbers are sadly growing. This is very heartbreaking. With active investigations and learning all the facts, more details will become available when there is clarification. We have learned that this has been ongoing since Sunday.

No Fundraisers have been approved by Beutler Family at this time. When we can confirm this you will be the first to know. I know our Western Lifestyle Family & Communities are ready to assist in any way and we are so very Thankful for each of you!
