For all my friends both far and near, I want to invite you to an event that I have been involved in planning. This event will be held in person in Georgetown, but it can be attended virtually from anywhere.

The concept for "From Balconies to Backyards - Taking care of what you have" is how to use our space - whether a large 5 acres or more like mine or just a small patio or balcony to benefit the natural world around us. Growing native plants gives us beautiful flowers all year round in Central Texas but it also brings beautiful butterflies, moths, birds and other wildlife to our yard.

Our Keynote Speaker, Brad Ferguson lives in Tucson, a desert environment. He will have some great ideas about gardening naturally even in dry environments.

For those in person, we will have a light dinner at 5:00 pm. We will also have vendors including Wright's nursery with her wonderful Texas native plants.

In person registration deadline is Friday, July 19th at 5:00 pm.

Virtual registration deadline is Thursday, July 25th.

I hope to see many familiar names from both far and near as I go through the attendee names!

I have planned a Photographing BIrds class this Tuesday evening through the Georgetown Recreation Center. This will be a virtual class so you don't have to live in Central Texas to attend.

This online course will focus on photographing birds. Participants must have completed or currently be enrolled in the digital photography class. Class will be held via Zoom. Details including the Zoom information will be emailed prior to the class date.
