I’m excited about the black and white photo in the center. It’s printed on brushed aluminum without a white undercoat, so when it catches the light, it glows in a really cool way.

Have you ever been out to Canyonlands in Utah? It is so beautiful, and while it is remote, it is worth the hours of road tripping. I always find my spirit and heart refreshed by a tramp through a gorgeous slot canyon and a heart pumping climb out at the end.

We had been out shooting early in the morning. I pulled out the camera to change lenses, but the telephoto was still on when I saw this majestic bird. I think it is a heron. I was so happy I caught it before I changed lenses!

Shooting fireworks isn't really Alex's thing, but for some reason I love it. Last night at Sand Hollow did not disappoint. The reflection on the water was magic for me. Hope everyone had a great Fourth of July. We are so thankful for all of the freedom we enjoy.

We went out looking for tortoises tonight. We were on our way back thinking we missed out when Alex spotted this guy right close to the road. Looks like he just had a snack.

Have you ever seen a woman with the most magnificent colors of dark and light, red and gold variation in her hair, and thought, "Wow, she was either born extremely lucky or spent a lot of money and time on a highly skilled colorist to have that hair"? For some reason, that crowning achievement of color came to my mind when I saw the coloring on this rock. I loved it.

I took my son out in the car with me before dawn to see what we could see in Arches. He asked if he could play with his tablet while we were there. He said, "But I WILL watch the sunrise." And he did. I loved the quiet and stillness of the early morning.
