This year I want to photograph Christmas the way your kids will actually remember it.

Your tree.
Your couch.
Their favorite Christmas pajamas.
The ornaments they insist on hanging in the same spot.
Cookies in the kitchen.
Dancing in the living room.
Cuddles by the tree.
All the little pieces of Christmas that happen inside your home.

Just your family, in the comfort of home, making memories while I document them.

And pleaseeee don’t think your house needs to look like it belongs in a magazine — it absolutely does not. The lived-in, real-life pieces are what make these special.

Just your friendly little reminder that fall family session season is coming 🍂🤎

I’m doing things a little differently this year and I will not be offering fall mini sessions.

Instead, I’ll be booking my regular family sessions:

30 minute sessions for families who want something quick and easy
----------------------------------------------------------
1 hour sessions for families who want more time, more variety, and all the in-between moments 🤎

So if you’ve been waiting on fall minis to pop up… this is your sign to go ahead and get on my calendar.

Bring the wild kids, the husband who “hates pictures,” the snack bribes — all of it. I want the laughs, the chaos, the cuddles, and the photos that actually feel like your family.

👋 I’m Amber. The girl behind Focus + Fade Photography.

I’m a wife, a mama to three little boys, spray tan artist and someone who’s learned just how quickly life can change.

I don’t usually make posts about myself because I’d much rather be behind the camera than in front of it.

But if you’re trusting me with your family, I guess you should know why this means so much to me.

Photography used to just be something I loved.
Now… it feels like something I need.

Life has a way of reminding you that nothing stays the same forever.

The babies you swear were just born suddenly start school.

The little hands that always reached for yours eventually stop.

And sometimes… the people you love most become memories.

I’ve learned that the photos we almost didn’t take end up meaning the most.
The ones where your toddler wouldn’t sit still.
The ones where everyone’s laughing because nothing went according to plan.
The ones where your hair wasn’t perfect.
The ones where you almost canceled because you didn’t like your outfit.

Those become the ones you treasure.🤍
That’s why I’ll never tell you to wait until you lose the weight, your house is cleaner, your kids behave better, or life slows down.

Because life doesn’t slow down.

If you ask me what I photograph, the answer isn’t families.

I photograph proof.
Proof that this season existed.
Proof that your babies were little.
Proof that your people were here.

And if, years from now, one of my photos makes someone smile through tears because they can remember exactly how someone looked, laughed, or hugged them…
Then I did my job.

So thank you.☺️
