Yesterday, we said goodbye to Brian's grandfather, Popo.
94 years of stories, wisdom, hard work. He was the kind of man who could teach you something without ever trying. Whether it was old farm equipment, random history lessons, going to antique stores, flea markets, or sitting around listening to his stories, there was never anyone quite like him.
Some of my favorite memories are the simple ones, spending time at his house, hearing him laugh, listening to him joke around, and watching him love every single one of his kids, grandkids, and great grandkids so fiercely. He made everyone feel important.
I’m beyond grateful Katie got to meet him and make memories with him. Watching him hold her and smile and joke around with her is something I’ll never forget.
The last few years weren’t easy, but he kept going far longer than anyone expected, and that alone says everything about the kind of fighter he was.
Rest easy, Popo. Give Momo a hug for us.
Love you always popo.
