Great information on getting your dogs comfortable seeing people in masks. I can only imagine how scary it is for them.

Our wonderful Allison McConnell created this helpful info-graph to ensure dogs are at ease during these strange times. Tip: make the treat novel and reserve it for this special exercise. Goat cheese is a great option for many dogs!

I am leading a photo shoot to Wingmasters in Leverett, MA if anyone is interested. You do not need to be a professional photographer. Here is the information:

Wingmasters Birds of Prey Outdoor Photography Sessions

I am organizing a few two hour photography trips to Wingmasters (Leverett, MA close to Amherst) with photo shoots from 9-11 a.m. and 1-3 p.m. The dates are Sunday, October 27th (rain date of Sunday, November 3rd) and then Saturday, November 9th (rain date Sunday, November 10th). I have the following slots available: 10/27 1-3 p.m. 1 slot, 11/9 9-11 a.m. 4 slots and 11/9 1-3 p.m. 6 slots.

We will meet near South Deerfield, MA and then all of us will head to Leverett, MA where we will meet Jim, Julie and their Birds of Prey. We should have the chance to photograph owls, hawks, and falcons. I have led many trips to their location and you can’t ask for much more than what Jim and Julie offer. They are both artists and will put most of the birds in trees with the jesses/leashes hidden which allows for some great photos! They even put screech owls together for the first time!

We will meet around 8:15 a.m or 12:15 p.m. and then travel to Leverett with photographing from 9-11 a.m. or 1-3 p.m. at Wingmasters. The trip is limited to 10 people and the cost is $60 per person.

Please contact Debbie Koundry to reserve your spot at 203-558-2372 or email [email protected].

For all of our followers that have dogs. Please be careful with more then half of our country experiencing higher then normal temperatures. Remember if you can't hold your hand on the pavement or asphalt for more then 5 seconds, your dogs pads can't handle the heat either.

Dogs paw pads can burn on hot pavements. As a general rule, if it's too hot for your hand it's too hot for their paws.

This is 3 year old Doolin, a soft coated wheaten terrier, with his parents Rachel Floyd Fox and Steve Fox. Doolin was born on the 4th of July and shares his birthday with Mom but don't worry I won't tell you how old Rachel is. ;) Doolin was so full of energy but we were able to get some cute photos in between saying hello to everyone at the park. For dogs that need regular grooming, it is important that it is done as close to photo day as possible. Doolin was groomed the day before and he was so soft and cuddly. One of the things I love about my job is cuddling with all of my subjects and receiving all of their love.

Sharing again since Facebook had issues and fireworks tonight in most towns.

With 4th of July days away and neighbors shooting off fireworks, here is some information for helping our cats and dogs stay calmer. Make sure your animal's collars have up to date contact information along with your registered chip, keep them inside for safety and if you remain calm, that will help your pets be calmer.
The 5th of July is the busiest day at animal shelters with owners trying to find their lost pets who spooked from the noise. Fireworks are also very scary for our human friends with PTSD and our wild friends.

This article has more information on what you can do at home for your dogs and some may apply to kitties too.
