Honoring my sweet and beautiful bridal client today // You know those kind of people who instantly make you feel at ease, welcomed, and warm? That was Whitney.
I met Whitney through her sisters wedding, and at the time had already been instagram friends with her, so when I met her IRL on lynnlee's wedding day, it felt like I already sort of knew her! She greeted me with the biggest hug and was so incredibly helpful that day (I said she should consider becoming a wedding planner). 🥳
When Whitney got engaged she reached out to me for her own wedding and her inquiry email brought a smile to my face! Even though she was in MN and I was still back here in CA, I enjoyed our check ins every now then up until her wedding day. From our conversations, I gathered these 3 things: One, she was truly a kind soul, two, she adored her family and friends (Trisha and Jocelyn you came up the most) and lastly, she loved the heck out of nate and never failed to mention how excited she was to marry him.
To whitney (and nate), thank you for having me capture one of the happiest days of your lives. To be quite honest, your wedding took me out of a weird funk. With all the covid cancellations and the whole wedding industry turned upside down last year, there was so much personal discouragement and uncertainty for me. BUT your wedding overflowed with so much love - your family and friends just as warm and welcoming as you, pure joy, stories, laughter, dancing, tears, intimate, raw moments, glorifying God - you could tell all the guests there had a special place in your hearts. For that reason, Your love story has been one of my favorites to capture. Being present at your wedding reminded me why I love capturing these fleeting moments of life - nudged me to feel again, and I couldn't help but feel so much real joy on your wedding day. Everything about your day felt right and perfect.
And that's how I'll always remember you cheerful, smiling and in complete love with your best friend - on one of the happiest days of your life.
To Nate, the Grangroth and Nelson families, you all have been on my heart this past week. Praying that God will cover you (continued in comments)
