One is none. Two is one. Three means you have a backup.

That’s one of the rules I follow when filming weddings.

Even when you hire our team with just one videographer, we usually set up 2–3 cameras for the ceremony.

One camera can capture a close-up of the bride and groom during the vows. Another gives us a wide shot of the ceremony and the full atmosphere.

It makes the final wedding film more dynamic, but there’s another reason that’s even more important: redundancy.

If one camera fails, we still have another angle. And every camera records to two memory cards whenever possible.

We use the same approach with wedding photography. Our photographers carry at least two cameras, with each camera recording to two cards.

The exact ceremony setup depends on the timeline and how much setup time we have, but our goal is always the same: capture the moment beautifully without relying on a single camera or a single memory card.

Because you only get one chance to capture the ceremony.
