My images reflect a deeply spiritual and inspiring connection to our world displaying the beauty of Creation to motivate others to see the splendor in the world around them. Rodney Arvel Morrow (born 1950 in Harlem, New York City) is a fine arts photographer based in the Charlotte, NC area. His images reflect a deeply-spiritual connection to nature and the environment, capturing the beauty of crea
tion through his unique vision. During his time at Tufts University in the 1970s, Rodney took several courses at the Museum School of Fine Arts (MSFA) in Boston. At MSFA, Rodney honed his skills as a previsualization photographer, capable of envisioning the final image before clicking the shutter. The curriculum enhanced his abilities through studies of various photographic styles, camera mechanics, composition rules, optimal film exposure and development techniques, and darkroom methodologies. With the advent of new digital technologies for capturing and producing images, Rodney has expanded his artistic vision to previously unimagined vistas. Upon completing his studies at Drew University's Seminary, Rodney became an ordained minister and worked as a hospital chaplain. In this role, he led national prayer meetings for chaplains, presenting his evocative images and asking participants to write what God had placed on their hearts within three minutes. During one particularly moving session, Marcel Duclos authored a poem for each image. The powerful combination of Duclos's prose and Morrow's photographs profoundly affected the meeting participants. Morrow and Marcel A. Duclos, published in November 2020. Rodney has been a member of the Professional Photographers of America since 2020, further solidifying his commitment to his craft. As he continues his artistic journey, Rodney invites you to explore his current and future images, drawing inspiration from his unique photographic perspective that seamlessly blends spirituality with visual artistry.
