I've been thinking a lot lately about something that feels especially important to me. Not only as a photographer, but as a mom. 🤍
AI is changing our world incredibly quickly, and with that have come some very real and unsettling concerns surrounding the images we share of our children online.
It made me stop and think about my own children... and then about all of the little faces I've had the privilege of photographing over the years.
Those aren't just beautiful images for my portfolio.
Those are your babies.
And while sharing my work is an important part of running my business, I never want marketing my business to come before a family's comfort or a child's privacy.
So, I'm making a change at Sol & Sage Photography. 🌿
Going forward, families will be given a clear choice about how photographs of their children may be used:
🤍 Full sharing permission
🤍 Non-identifying images only. Little hands, silhouettes, photos from behind, details, etc.
🤍 Completely private and nothing is shared publicly
And choosing privacy will never affect your session, your gallery, or the experience you receive from me. You don't need a reason. You don't need to explain. Your answer is simply your answer.
I'll still be sharing the beautiful stories I'm lucky enough to document, but I'm going to be even more intentional about how I share them.
Because these photographs may be my art, but the people in them are your whole world.
And that will always matter more. 🤍
