Kate's opening reception at Sweetspire Coffee was so relaxed, beautiful, and full of love and support for her and her watercolor art.

I truly loved seeing so many "sold" tags, but really what I loved the most was seeing the support she received. Her family, friends, and collectors of her work showed up reminiscing and smiling.

It was such a cool feeling to witness and be part of the experience.

She's so stinkin' talented, and she's a wonderful friend.

When I think of Kate: Still waters run deep.

She pours her love and poetic connection to the Earth into every single piece she creates. You'll smell the air and feel the weather on your skin when you look at her art... well, I do anyway 💚

Her Unruly Art gets packed up this Friday at Sweetspire and heads to the Lewisburg Arts Festival Saturday.

Even though we were down by 5, we all had such a beautiful time Friday night celebrating the completion of The Embodiment Series.

There was lots of laughter, and even a few tears, and I think that some new friendships were made, too.

Tracy had decorated the table so beautifully, her pies were delicious, and all the hugs shared that evening were so warm and perfect💚

began as a way for me to focus on connection... I had been longing for something deeper in my work.

I met up with 15 women over coffee or lunch, one at a time, throughout the year... we spoke for hours about their life experiences - it was beautiful. 13 are part of this photographic series.

I had asked all of the ladies to dig a bit deeper... reflect on how their experiences have influenced their strength, ability to love themselves and others, and have compassion for themselves/others.

I didn't care how it was written... scribbled, doodled... one word... filling an entire page...
I just hoped that something hand-written, framed next to their framed images from the series would bring more connection to the series at the showing.
I also hoped that it would be another element of healing.

Tonight is the night that the ladies from The Embodiment Series finally meet over dessert and coffee! (We will be missing a few key players in the series, unfortunately)

I’m so proud of what this passion project has become, the depth each of you in the series dove in order to heal…. This is entire experience is even more incredible than I imagined it to be.

I cannot wait for you to see the final project all together at the Art Academy of Milton in April. (I’ll give you the finalized date very soon)

He's helping to pull her hood back over her hat.

This was a day after the intense wind and the snow drifted in these beautiful, contouring ways pretty much everywhere.

I look at this image and see their relationship as it is. Caring.

I feel so happy for them as I look at this because what they both have with each other is beautiful.

I'm thankful and so proud to be their mom 💚

slow, connected, enjoyed.

I didn’t realize how difficult, and emotional, it would be to choose…. Imagining my work framed- hanging- for anyone to see…. I’m feeling SO PROUD of myself and so amazed by the women I connected with through this series.

I have loved every single moment so far 💚
I have learned so much and feel so fulfilled.

I’m so, so looking forward to meeting up with all of you again for our group gathering at the end of February 💚

(And for you: I loved our time chatting on my front porch - you chose not to take part in being photographed….

That is ok. You know why? Because I realized that the photographs aren’t actually what I was longing for … it was the connection 💚 and that’s what I got from our time. THAT is what this series is about.)

(And for you: i loved our conversations over coffee and your openness… your friendship… i loved photographing you 💚 Even tho you chose not to share you images within the series…. You made me realize it was connection I was after all along 💚 Thank for allowing me to see that. You put it into words that day in the courtyard . 💚)
