I'm a Newborn and Maternity Photographer in Hudson, NY and happen to be a mom- which has made me passionate about helping other moms see themselves as strong, beautiful, and called to raise their babies and remember the blur of motherhood.

This time of year, so many of us are getting ready for back-to-school—and that includes me. 🤍

As a homeschooling mom of four, I realized early on that my kids weren’t going to have those traditional school pictures every year… unless I took them!

I started photographing the kids in our homeschool co-op, and then I discovered Fine Art Portraits through Photographer Coach Elena S Blair. I fell in love with the way these portraits capture so much more than a smile for the camera—they capture the child.

I realized I could offer this experience to other homeschool families, too—not just the families in our co-op.

If you’re a homeschooling family or part of a homeschool group, I would love to create Fine Art Portraits for your children. 🤍

These aren’t just “school pictures.” They’re timeless portraits that capture the genuine essence of who your child is right now—and who they’re becoming. And yes, that includes the teens, too. 🫶🏽

Many of the families I photograph return year after year because they love having these beautiful portraits documenting each season of their children’s lives.

And one of my favorite things? Seeing the transformation in kids who really don’t want to have their picture taken.

Parents often tell me they’re surprised by how comfortable their child becomes—and how genuine the resulting portraits are. Kids who once hated pictures now walk in saying, “I love Ms. Krista.” 🤍

That means so much to me.

If you’d like Fine Art Portraits for your homeschool group, co-op, or family, send me a message. I’d love to chat about bringing this experience to your group!

Every time I do a newborn session, it takes me right back to those days.

The sleepless, love-drunk blur of having a newborn.

The peach fuzz hair. The tiny cries. The constant puzzle of figuring it all out. (Whether it’s baby #1 or baby #4, it’s still a puzzle 😅)

The way time seemed to slow down and speed up all at once.

And every time I’m sitting there with a new mama—whether she’s a mama of one, two, or more (because yes, you’re new again too)—I’m in awe of how easily I’ve forgotten what it was like.

What it felt like.

The rhythm of those days and nights that somehow led me to where I am right now.

I love every stage of motherhood, and I’m enjoying the heck out of my “babies” exactly where they are.

But oh…to go back and cradle them in my arms one more time. 🥹

I’m telling you this because you may think you don’t need the photos.

You may not be sure you want to make the investment.

Or maybe you’re worried it will feel “weird” to be in front of the camera.

It won’t. I promise. 🤍

And I also promise you won’t regret having those photos.

Because one day, you’ll look back and realize just how quickly this season disappeared.

And when that little one is 16 and heading out to take their road test, you’re going to be so incredibly glad you have photographs that take you right back to when they fit so perfectly in your arms. 🤍

Maybe you’re telling yourself you don’t need maternity photos.

“I’ll do newborn photos instead”
“I’m not comfortable in front of the camera.”
“I don’t feel like myself right now.”
“We can just take some ourselves.”
“There are so many other things to spend money on.”

I get it. Especially as a first-time mom, there’s already so much to think about.

But here’s what I know now, as a mom of four:

Once your baby is here, the “before” is gone forever.

You won’t remember exactly what it felt like to be pregnant with your first.
You won’t remember what it was like to be just the two of you, waiting for the person who was about to change everything.

And someday, you’ll want to see it.

Not just your belly. You’ll want to remember YOU.

So take the photos. Bring your hubby. Chase the sunset.

✨Let yourself be celebrated in this season.✨

Because soon, you’ll be tired, sleep-deprived, completely in love—and so grateful you have these photos to remind you of the woman standing on the edge of it all. 🤍

If you’re expecting your first, invite me to capture this season before it becomes a “before” you can’t get back.

Before my first was born, I had no idea what to expect.

I had no idea what I was doing or how deeply I would love this little person—or how much I would change right alongside him.

And now, he’s taller than me… and honestly, I still don’t always feel like I know what I’m doing. 😂

Because motherhood isn’t something we eventually “figure out.” We grow into it, one season at a time. ✨

If you’re waiting for your first baby, you’re standing at the beginning of a season that will change you in ways you can’t imagine yet.

The woman you are today will never be exactly the same again.🤍

So let’s document this season. The growing belly. The anticipation. The excitement. The woman you are right before everything changes.

Invite me to capture this beautiful beginning for you. 🤍

Because someday, you’ll look back at these photos and remember the woman who was standing on the edge of a whole new life—and just how much was about to begin.

As a mom of four, there are days when I don’t sit down.

Life is one thing after another—playdates, get-togethers, practices, work… there’s always something.

But every once in a while, I stop and take it all in.

Movie snuggles on the couch.
Watching them do the hard thing they’ve been working toward and finally find success.
Hugs before bed.
A late-night snack together in the kitchen.

And in those little, ordinary moments, I’m overwhelmed with thankfulness.

Thankful for the honor of being their mom.
For the life we get to live.
For the privilege of watching them grow into their own unique people.

At this point in summer, it’s easy to start looking ahead—to Fall schedules, school, practices, routines, and everything that comes with a new season.

But before we get there, take a breath.

Soak it in. Slow it down. Enjoy these last few weeks of summer.

And when you’re ready, book your Fall session with me. 🤍

Because these are the moments you’ll want to remember—not just how they looked, but how this season felt.

Fall booking is officially open, and spots are limited. I’d love to help you preserve a little piece of this season to come back to years from now.

Fall is coming. 🍁 And somehow, so is another season of your life.

If you’re expecting your little one, soaking up these last few months while you anxiously await becoming a family of three, this season is worth remembering. 🤍

The growing belly. The little (or not so little) kicks, the anticipation and dreams of who is about to join your family.

It all changes so quickly.

Before fall fills up, let’s make time to remember this season.

My Fall 2026 calendar is officially open, and spots are limited. 🤎

Let’s capture this version of your family—the one you’re living right now, before it becomes a memory.

As your photographer, I know I have the honor of capturing the memories that become your legacy.

This session, for example, was held at the same spot where this couple said “I do” — and now they’re celebrating one year with their daughter here for our session.

Every session looks different. But the weight I carry into each one is the same: I’m not just taking photos. I’m preserving a story that will outlast the people in it.

Someday, this little girl will sit with her own kids — maybe her grandkids — and hand them these photos. She’ll tell them how her parents met, how she grew, who loved her first. The whole story, held in a few frames.

That’s what you’re really booking. Not just pictures — a moment your family gets to keep forever.

Don’t wait on this. Future you (and future them) will be so glad you didn’t. 🤍

I used to think that as my babies grew, they would need me less.

When they were little, they needed me to tie their shoes, get them dressed, wipe their tears, and make their lunches. I assumed that as they got older, they would slowly outgrow my care.

But I know now that isn’t true.

They simply need me in different ways.

The late-night rocking turns into late-night conversations. Tiny hands grasping mine become teenage eyes searching the room for reassurance. The needs change, but the connection never does.

Because the bond between a mother and her children is sacred. It cannot be outgrown.

Over the years, my role has changed — and it will continue to change as they do — but one thing never will: I will always be their mom, and they will always be my babies.

So cherish this season.
Take the photos.
Read another story.
Steal another kiss.

Because one day, your role will change again. You’ll find yourself loving the new season while missing the old one all at once. And you’ll realize every stage carried its own kind of magic. 🤍

I blinked… and my oldest will be driving next year. How did that happen?

I can still feel him as a newborn—tiny, curled up on my chest. It felt slow back then… but it wasn’t. It’s so easy for it all to become a blur.

If you’re expecting your first (or in those early days), just know:
it goes so fast.

Newborn photos aren’t about perfection—they’re about holding onto what this season felt like before it fades into memory 🤍

Let me help you remember the blur.
