Growing up in Vermont and attending college in Florida, I’ve now called Maryland home for over 15 years. I love the natural and cultural diversity this state offers, making it a photographer’s dream. My love of photography began when I was exploring the culture, cuisine, and nature of near and far away lands while traveling the world for business. From biking through Bangkok’s lively streets, feas
ting on schnitzel and gluhwein in Germany, to hiking mysterious desert mountains in Israel, I faithfully carried my camera with me to even the most exotic locations. I loved capturing the raw beauty and authenticity around each bend. Three years ago, my husband and I started a new chapter in life welcoming our baby girl. Six months later, I resigned from my job to stay home with her and my love of family photography blossomed. Through formal training, I expanded my photography craft in exciting and new ways and began taking family photos for others. It’s been a joy and an honor capturing the sweet, fun, and special moments that forever stay in your heart. In the fall of 2016, I was having difficulty with my vision and doctors discovered I had a large cyst in my head that was squishing my optic nerves causing me to lose peripheral vision in both eyes. My biggest fear through all of this was not being able to see my daughter grow. A few weeks later, I had endoscopic transnasal brain surgery with an amazing team of Johns Hopkins doctors and regained my lost vision almost immediately. I am forever grateful that I can continue to pursue my passion of capturing life’s beloved and cherished moments for many families.
