ARTEMIS-2 HAS LAUNCHED AND ON ITS WAY AROUND THE MOON! If you were not aware, I have supported the Artemis program for the majority of engineering career, the last decade in vehicle aerodynamics. This launch is the realization of the efforts of a team of thousands of brilliant minds, all of whom tirelessly work to advance humanity and push it farther than it’s ever gone each day.
I need to acknowledge the love and support of Mel, the love of my life, my prime galactic adventurer (at least in cosplay 😂), and biggest space cheerleader. As my career has progressed and my responsibilities increased, the amount of personal sacrifice has climbed with it. The long work trips away to support hardware, so frequent earlier in my career (oh, and don’t forget losing the holidays last year for it!)…she has never once complained and always told me to do what I needed to be done for the mission. In a lot of ways, the Artemis mission was even more personal for her than it is for me—and she really showed that during the launch yesterdays. 🥰🥰
