When you want all the smoke, you get Khói (smoke in Vietnamese).

Finally made way to try ’s pop-ups. Their barbecue is central Texas inspired with asian influences. While there was already a line (to be expected) when we arrived shortly before opening at 11am, it moved relatively quick. You have your traditional meats: brisket, pork ribs, beef ribs, and links. They offer their specials for the pop-up that included: beef rib curry, brisket pho, whole hog garlic rice (ordered), brisket sando and whole hog banh xeo - all of which we wanted to try but if you’re like me, hot weather and hot food isn’t for me. Watching the & ’s team smoke, cut and prep orders made me miss photographing chefs and the hospitality team in their element.

Gettin Lao’d with 📣

Don’t sleep on Laotian cuisine. It’s been almost a year since we’ve moved to Houston. Out of all the restaurants, has probably been one of the highly visited. Shoutout to for the hospitality & blessing the Houston food scene with Laos food.

Very similar to Thai, Laotian cuisine features a balance of sweet, sour, salty, and spicy flavors. Laotian cuisine emphasizes simplicity and relies heavily on fresh herbs and vegetables.

- Nam Khao (Crispy Rice)
- Mok Pa (Lao Steamed Fish)
- Papaya Salad
- Laab Steak
