This weekend we went to High Island, Tx to witness a 'fall out' of birds. This is when the birds that migrate across the Gulf of America from the Yucatan to the Texas coast hit a cold front and the north wind causes then to tire out and rest right along the Texas coast. High Island, with its large trees, attract a great number of birds species. These are some of the pictures we took of indigo buntings, one of our favorite birds.

It was very cooperative and posed like a professional model. A macro picture of the wing scales just amazes me - they are so beautiful.
