Houston Man Misses Thanksgiving 1999 and Every Day Afterward

Almond Gene Little, Sr. doesn’t appear for Thanksgiving. His family is worried. He’s reported missing thereafter.

Much later from 2021-2025, the news story has circulated around Houston. Daughter drafts an open letter to her missing father and publishes it as a book on Amazon.

After countless attempts within Harris County systems and unidentified circles, his daughter Lovetta is notified that the case is solved. A Harris County Cemetery grave is finally located after 25 years.

The tombstone bears the name “Gene Little”.

Detailed hospital records, photos and fingerprints are unavailable.

Is Almond Gene Little, Sr. inside the grave?

How can his daughter be sure without exhumation?

Harris County went more than 25 years without any indication of where Gene Little was buried.

Lovetta is on a mission for confirmation and it’ll take several departments and organizations to assist.

It should also lead to reform in hospital record keeping.

LePaul is a beloved 17-year-old senior at Westbury High School and a dedicated student-athlete who made an impact both on and off the field. A standout football and basketball player, LePaul was loved by his teammates, coaches, classmates, friends, and, most importantly, his family.

Tragically, LePaul’s life was taken far too soon in a shooting near Westbury High School in Houston Texas on Friday morning. His family is now facing an unimaginable loss as they grieve the loss of their son, brother, teammate, and friend.

We are creating this GoFundMe to support LePaul’s mother and sister during this incredibly difficult time. The funds raised will provide financial support to his family as they navigate the days and weeks ahead.

Westbury High lost a teammate and decorated student- athlete to senseless gun violence last week. Evidently, the district is resolving the postponement of the game with a FORFEIT which equals a LOSS.

Parent Andria Johnson says…

“Yall reach out to & and ask them why they're choosing to punish the team by FORCING our boys to forfeit their DISTRICT game vs Northbrook. There is no reason why the game should not have been made up.

“The actions of a kid not affiliated w/ Westbury should not warrant Westbury taking 2 losses! The boys have already loss their brother how much more do they want them to suffer?

“🗣🗣🗣Stop playing w/ our boys❗️❗️”

Keep pushing it up the ladder.

At the very least, find the date of the next HISD meeting.

You should receive 3 minutes to speak uninterrupted. They’re required to listen.

Take 10 people that are each ready to speak.

Show up at least 30 minutes ahead of time or whatever is required based on their protocol.

I have somewhat of a similar situation with FedEx where historically black college/university (HBCu) sports memorabilia used for my documentary was lost in July 2026. Collected 197-1983.

It’s irreplaceable.

A couple of you mentioned the first years of existence on my post about famous people and moments at Aldine Eisenhower (Ike). Anne Bergstrom Hunt provided this clip for us. Much appreciated.

This official visit was on behalf of former Army general and 34th president Dwight D. Eisenhower who died roughly 3.5 years earlier.

Nixon-Eisenhower joked about the winless football record that year before touring the new campus with Superintendent Thorne and Principal John B. Ennis.

Anyone remember players from the original sports teams? TAG 'EM.
