Elevators in the South by alexmcferren

Elevators in the South by alexmcferren Welcome to the official Elevators in the South by alexmcferren page! That is the story of how "Elevators in the South by alexmcferren" started.

Here's where it started: On January 2010, I watched an elevator video made by another elevator photographer named gluse. After I watched the video, I became interested in filming elevators, so I went to my local library on February (Clear Lake City County-Freeman Branch Library) and filmed the ThyssenKrupp Impulse Hydraulic Elevator, although that video was never uploaded on YouTube. Two months la

ter, on April 25, 2010, I ventured back to the same library and filmed the elevators again. This time, it made it on YouTube the same day, because it was a better take than the last one. My YouTube channel was opened on September 19, 2007, but there was no elevator videos until almost three years later.

I'm featured around the 50 second mark. Got featured on SEC Network, and this actually popped up on national TV.

If y’all are wondering what’s going on with me, here’s some pictures of Texas FFA State Convention that I went on two weeks ago. I was elected as an FFA officer for this upcoming school year so uploads won’t be frequent, as I will be very busy this coming up year. However you’ll see backlogs every now and then.

I have some important information for Elevators in the South.

Elevators in the South started in 2010, and became more active in 2014. I really like filming elevators and all, but FFA and hanging out with my friends from FFA are my new main hobbies. Also, security in the Houston area is starting to get more tight on elevator filming. There are a few places that allow elevator filming, such as 24 Greenway Plaza, and most of the Clear Lake places that I've been to. I've been raising a goat. I'll try to go back to 24 Greenway Plaza maybe sometime soon, but due to the FFA hobby and also YouTube booting me out of monetization, uploading will be less frequent. This DOES NOT mean I'm quitting YouTube, it's just that there won't be many videos as usual. However in the near future, I will be uploading a final ride video of the Sears in Baybrook Mall elevator, as the Sears in Baybrook Mall is now permanently closed. Then sometime in the future I'll try to get back to 24 Greenway Plaza, maybe even seeing if I could meet up with Jim in the process.

Again, to put it in short: I am not quitting YouTube, and I'm still gonna film elevators, just not as frequent as I used to due to raising a goat.

Got this picture from a friend in north Houston, somewhere around Waller. After all this rain we had it looks like the sun is about to head our way. So glad that all this is over.

This was from last week. Met Sarah Pepper and Lauren Kelly while filming the elevators at everyone's favorite building in Houston.

ThyssenKrupp Elevator is thinking about modernizing the elevators at 24 Greenway Plaza next year. They're modernizing the escalators first which I think may happen later this year, then they're waiting on the greenlight to modernize the elevators. If this happens, I'll be getting parts. Just wanted to update all about what's happening now.

Elevators in the South will be using a new opening signature soon that will be more suitable for general audiences. The old opening signature was from a show that was aimed at older audiences, and it was time for Elevators in the South to find a new signature that will be aimed at a suitable audience. It will be an amiibo figure, so that should be perfect for the audiences here.
