I do love shooting with the iPhone and it can get some great photos but so far the only way I know to get a helicopter "full disc" is with an actual camera. Gorgeous blue Bell Jet Ranger Helicopter photographed in Arizona last October Air to Air with Aviation PhotoCrew. partial rotor disc📱iPhone 15 Pro RAW full rotor disc 📷Sony A1/Sonly 70-200 GMII 1/5 (yes the math to getting a full disc means you shoot at ridiculously low shutter speeds even air to air mostly not keepers for this shot. I could be a smidge faster but I was going down to slowest and back up to a safer speed went a bit slower than I planned. I’ll link a good article about the math in the comments) iso100 f22 (why no ND filter? conditions on the sortie varied widely and due to safety considerations absolutely no loose equipment like a screw on or snap on ND filter would be installed during flight so you manage with what you can do. If it had been a dedicated flight for the Jet Ranger and more control over time of day and lighting I might have had an ND filter on or multiple bodies lens one with one without). I really want to go back and reprocess this whole shoot see if I missed a better shot. Helicopters are my nemisis no matter what I am shooting with.

A United Airlines Boeing 737-700 aircraft equipped with Split Scimitar winglets departing Dulles International airport Friday evening. United's 737-700s are part of their domestic fleet and are used on short and medium-range routes. The aircraft have been updated with amenities like WiFi and power ports, but are nearing the end of their service life and will be replaced by newer aircraft like the MAX 8s, MAX 10s, and A321neos.

Friday before a weekend gathering near Baltimore I squeezed in some plane spotting at Dulles and a visit to the Air and Space Udvar-Hazy Center. The plane spotting for Dulles departures from the Air and Space Parkway exiting the museum is excellent.
