Can we normalize not ghosting photographers after inquiring?

We spend time responding to inquiries, checking availability, answering questions, creating custom quotes, and helping you find the best fit for your session or wedding day. If you decide to go a different direction, that’s completely okay. If you’re not ready to book, that’s okay too.

But a simple:
“Thank you, but we’ve decided to go another route.”
or
“We’re going to hold off for now.”

goes a long way.

Photographers are real people behind the screen, not automated booking systems. A 10-second message provides closure and allows us to move forward instead of wondering if you’re still interested.

Kindness costs nothing, and communication is always appreciated.

Clients have gotten way too comfortable expecting photographers to offer “mini” pricing while still doing:
• custom scheduling
• custom locations
• one-on-one shooting
• individualized editing
• communication + planning

A true mini session is designed to work because multiple sessions are booked back-to-back in the same location, on the same date, with the same setup. That’s what keeps them affordable.

A single-person session with custom flexibility is not a mini session, it’s a regular session. 🤍

Friendly reminder that photographers deserve to price their time, creativity, travel, editing, and energy accordingly.
