Meet Ellen | Kingwood High School | Class of 2027

Ellen showed up for her Kelly Anne Style Ambassador Intro Shoot — and she DELIVERED.

She wears a little swan necklace that she told me she never takes off. Swans are one of her favorite animals because of their beauty, grace, sensitivity and strength.

And after spending time with Ellen, I understood exactly why.

Her mom told me before her shoot that Ellen has always had a connection with the camera, and I experienced it almost immediately. There is such a natural ease about her — she can be light and playful, bouncing in and out of a moment and leaving everyone smiling, with this subtle humor that sneaks up on you.

And the face card? INCREDIBLY seen.

During her Ambassador interview, Ellen sent me selfies and some of her favorite photographs of herself, and I was immediately drawn to another side of her.

Quiet. Intelligent. Serious. A little mysterious. A whole mood.

The kind of images where she doesn’t have to do much at all because her expression speaks for itself.

That contrast is what makes her so interesting to photograph. There’s softness and sensitivity, but there’s strength there too. Playful one second, completely composed the next.

Beauty. Grace. Sensitivity. Strength.

Maybe the swan makes perfect sense after all.

Meet Avery, a Houston Christian High School senior and Kelly Anne Style Class of 2027 Ambassador.

With that beautiful smile, gorgeous red hair, and the way she stepped onto my set, you would have thought Avery had been modeling for years.

Then she looked at me, smiled, and asked, "So... what do I do with my hands?"

Just like that, the ice was broken.

That little moment is so Avery.

There is such a genuine, wonderfully fun person underneath all that pretty. She has a subtle sense of humor that catches you when you least expect it and an easy confidence that makes her incredibly fun to be around.

Avery is also one of those people who naturally puts others at ease. Put her in a group and she just fits. More importantly, people feel comfortable around her. She doesn't need to prove anything. She has a quiet way of connecting with people, and before long, you realize she's become someone others naturally gravitate toward. People trust her. They enjoy being around her. That's a rare gift.

She loves puppies, treasures her friendships, and has been exploring her interest in the health sciences. She's intelligent, curious, and genuinely interested in the world and the people around her.

While I have no idea exactly where life will take this girl, I have a feeling she's going to make a difference in a lot of lives along the way.

Because yes... the gorgeous red hair, beautiful smile, and camera-ready face are hard to miss. But spend just a little time with Avery, and you'll quickly realize the very best part is the person underneath it all.

Avery, thank you for trusting me with your senior year. You have been so much fun to photograph, and I can't wait to see everything we create together. I have no doubt you're going to make your mark on the world, and I can't wait to watch your story unfold.

Meet Ayla, a Porter High School senior, theater student, and Kelly Anne Style Ambassador, Class of 2027.

Some people dream big.

Ayla is one of those people... and she has the talent, work ethic, and determination to match those dreams.

She recently made it to the second round of callbacks for Theatre Under The Stars (TUTS) here in Houston, an incredible accomplishment that speaks to both her dedication and talent. She was also featured in *East Montgomery County Lifestyle* magazine for her award-winning costume designs, becoming a part of Porter High School theater history through her creativity and artistry.

Those accomplishments are impressive.

But they're not what stands out to me most.

What I love most about Ayla is the way she makes people feel.

She doesn't know a stranger. Within minutes of meeting someone, she's introducing herself, asking questions, remembering names, and making people feel like they belong. She has this genuine warmth that draws people in. She's inclusive, kind, encouraging, and one of those rare people who can walk into a room and make everyone feel welcome.

As a photographer, I get to meet a lot of incredible seniors, and every once in a while, someone comes along whose personality shines just as brightly as their talent. That's Ayla.

I have no doubt she's going to do amazing things in the theater world, but I also know she'll leave a lasting impact wherever she goes because of the way she treats people.

What has touched me most is the trust this family has placed in me. They have been incredibly intentional about surrounding Ayla with the very best teachers, coaches, and mentors to help her pursue her dreams, and the fact that they chose me to create her senior portraits, headshots, and portfolio is something I don't take for granted. To play even a small role in helping her tell her story and present herself for future opportunities is an incredible honor.

Ayla, thank you for trusting me with your senior year. Your excitement is contagious, your heart is even bigger than your dreams, and you have been such a joy to photograph. I cannot wait to see where this next chapter takes you.

Meet Asta, a C.E. King High School varsity tennis player and Kelly Anne Style Ambassador, Class of 2027.

This girl brings a fierce, unmatched face card every time she steps in front of my camera, but don't let that camera-ready smolder fool you. Behind it is the biggest smile, an even bigger heart, and a personality that lights up every room she's in.

During our ambassador interview, Asta confidently told me she was going to bring some extra "PUMP" to my brand and this team... and she absolutely delivered. There is something so fun about photographing a senior who shows up with that kind of energy and excitement. It makes every shoot better.

Beyond that, Asta is everything you hope for in an ambassador. She's always on time, follows through on everything she commits to, is eager to participate, and embraces every opportunity with enthusiasm. She's dependable, positive, and all in.

As a photographer, those qualities mean so much to me. Beautiful portraits are important, but it's the person behind them that makes the experience unforgettable. Asta has a way of making everyone around her smile, and that kind of joy is contagious.

Meet Bree, a Class of 2027 senior at Atascocita High School, varsity cheerleader, and Kelly Anne Style Senior Ambassador.

There are some seniors who leave an impression before they ever step in front of my camera, and Bree was one of them.

The first time we met, she was getting ready to leave for Alaska, and as a photographer, I couldn't stop asking questions. I wanted to know what it was like during the summer when the sun never really sets.

When she came home, she described it perfectly.

"The sun still rose and set, but instead of getting dark it was more like a golden hour all night until it rose again in the morning."

A photographer's dream.

I asked her to send me her favorite photo from the trip, and it was breathtaking. Snow-capped mountains, lush deep greens, soft haze, rich shadows, and a bear quietly grazing. It perfectly captured the wild beauty of Alaska.

As I looked back through Bree's denim session, I realized something I hadn't noticed before. That same Alaska mood found its way into these photographs. Rich denim, soft light, deep tones, and the same quiet beauty and confidence Bree carries so naturally. Sometimes inspiration has a way of following us home.

I always think Bree has a little bit of that young Ella Langley look, and Ella's American Eagle campaign was actually one of the inspirations behind this intro session. We took that feeling and turned it into our own Kelly Anne Style Denim Campaign.

Every ambassador begins with an intro session like this before their full senior experience. It's where we break the ice, build trust, discover the poses that feel most natural, learn how they love to wear their hair, and create a foundation so every session afterward feels effortless and completely personalized.

Bree is also part of something really special happening at Atascocita High School. The Class of 2026 ambassadors came in strong, and the Class of 2027 has picked up right where they left off. It isn't lost on me how many incredible seniors from AHS have trusted me with this season of their lives, and I already know we're going to have so much fun together this year.

It's officially 3:00 a.m., which means I technically missed Senior Sunday #3 for the Class of 2027... even by Pacific Time.

I couldn't not post.

Senior Sunday has become one of my favorite traditions because it's so much more than sharing a few beautiful photographs. It's about celebrating a senior's story and recognizing a season they've spent a lifetime building.

The truth is, I could always keep working. There's always another gallery to edit, another session to prepare, another story to write, or another senior waiting to be featured. If I let it, this work could easily fill every hour of every day.

Not because I feel obligated, but because I genuinely love it. I believe this work matters. I believe these stories deserve to be told. And I care deeply about keeping the promises I make to the seniors and families who trust me.

At the same time, I have to remind myself that my own family deserves the same attention I encourage my clients to cherish. The work will always be there, but these moments at home won't.

That's why Senior Sunday is worth staying up for.

These seniors only get one senior year, but they've spent a lifetime becoming the person they are today. Years from now, they'll be able to scroll back through these posts and remember not only what they looked like, but who they were, the friendships they built, the dreams they were chasing, and the people who helped shape them.

In many ways, social media has become this generation's scrapbook.

Their parents have photo albums on shelves. They have a living, growing story that preserves not just how they looked, but who they were. I don't take lightly the privilege of helping tell that story.

This week's Senior Sunday belongs to Bella.

Meet Bella | Atascocita High School | Class of 2027

Bella is a varsity cheerleader at Atascocita High School, but one of the things I admire most about her has nothing to do with cheer. From the very beginning, she wanted this experience to be something she shared with her friends. She didn't just join the Kelly Anne Style Senior Team—she invited others to be part of it too, becoming one of our top recruiting ambassadors this year.

Watching so many Atascocita High School seniors come together has been one of my favorite parts of this ambassador season.

The energy, encouragement, and friendships they've brought to every shoot have been incredible. I love celebrating not only each senior individually, but the friendships they'll remember long after graduation.

The Class of 2026 set the bar incredibly high. Our ambassadors—especially the cheerleaders and theater students—created such a close-knit, supportive group that became one of the highlights of the year. It has been so much fun watching the Class of 2027 pick up right where they left off. This year's Atascocita group has brought that same excitement, school pride, and enthusiasm, and I have loved every minute of it.

One of my favorite things about Bella is that she doesn't wait for things to happen—she makes them happen. She doesn't just ask questions; she calls meetings. She checks in, shares ideas, and wants to be involved in every part of the experience. More importantly, she's always thinking beyond herself. She genuinely wants to make sure this experience is everything she imagined—not just for herself, but for her friends. That kind of leadership and heart is something you can't teach, and I can't wait to see where those character traits take her in life.

When I say I take the time to truly get to know your senior, I mean it. I want to understand who they are, what matters to them, what gives them confidence, and what makes them uniquely themselves. My goal is to translate all of those things through my lens so that years from now, these portraits don't just remind you what your senior looked like—they remind you exactly who they were in this season of life.

Bella, thank you for your leadership, your heart for your friends, and for trusting me to be part of such an important year. I can't wait to continue celebrating everything that's ahead for you.

As a photographer, I love AI.

That may surprise some people.

I use AI every single day. I use it to brainstorm ideas, research, write, organize my business, and even create concept art before investing in a new set or location.

I’ve even created AI headshots of myself.

I thought they looked incredible.

So naturally, I started using them in my own marketing.

Then I learned something the hard way.

They weren’t nearly as effective as real photographs of me.

Around the same time, I began creating AI concept images to advertise ideas I hadn’t photographed yet—like my Coastal Christmas sessions. AI allowed me to visualize and market a concept before I invested in creating it.

Again, I noticed a pattern.

Those posts consistently received less engagement than posts featuring real photographs from my portfolio.

That made me curious.

Instead of assuming I knew why, I started researching consumer behavior, branding, and how different generations respond to AI.

What I found was fascinating.

Gen Z (roughly ages 14–29) is the generation using AI more than anyone else. They embrace it for school, research, brainstorming, coding, and productivity. Yet when it comes to branding, marketing, and especially images of people, they’re also the generation most likely to question and reject content that feels AI-generated. Authenticity matters to them.

Millennials and Gen X have been quicker to adopt AI as a business tool. They use it to write, organize, create presentations, analyze data, and work more efficiently.

But there seems to be one place where all three generations largely agree.

When you’re asking someone to trust you, they want to see the real person behind the business.

Your headshot isn’t just a picture.

It’s a statement.

It says:

• I invest in my business.

• I take the time to present myself and my business authentically.

• I care about quality and attention to detail.

• I’m proud enough of my work to show up as myself.

• I stand behind who I am.

• The person you meet is the person you saw online.

Those are powerful trust signals.

It’s also why many luxury brands and high-trust professions continue to invest in professional photographers, creative directors, stylists, and real people. While many companies are experimenting with AI behind the scenes, research suggests consumers often perceive AI-generated advertising for luxury brands and high-involvement services as less authentic and lower effort, reducing trust and purchase intent.

This isn’t an argument against AI.

Quite the opposite.

I believe AI is one of the most transformative tools we’ve ever been given, and I use it every single day.

But I’ve learned there’s a difference between using AI to improve your workflow and letting AI become the face of your business.

AI can help me imagine an idea.

It can help me write.

It can help me research.

It can help me build a better business.

But it can’t replace the value of showing up as a real person.

In a world where almost anything can be generated in seconds, authenticity becomes a luxury.

And I believe real people will always be your strongest brand.
