MARCELAAAAA AND NICOOOOLE! Yall. I waited TWO. YEARS. to finally be able to meet these two in person, and it was worth every second of the wait!

M+N were supposed to get married way back in February of 2020 and then had to make the difficult decision to postpone until 2022 so that their family could safely travel in from across the world for their big day, so to say finally meeting them at their engagement session yesterday was a long time coming is the understatement of the year. It was everything I ever dreamed of and more, and I cannot wait to see these two again in February for their big wedding day! In the meantime, I was v serious about needing your step-by-step hair routine with all product names included because your curls are everything mine dream they could be some day.

Yesterday’s styled shoot was a little bit trendy, a little bit editorial, a little bit… Alexis? La la la-la la la la. (Where my fans at?)

Even though we were enveloped by trendy pastels and muted earth tone details, I loved this stark ray of opposing light that cut through the blank wall, and wanted alllll that contrast and movement for our gorgeous model, , who actually does kind of remind me of Alexis. (But only in that effortlessly-beautiful-without-trying way!)

I’m not sure who had more fun at Christy and Juan’s wedding — the two of them, their ridiculously fun wedding party, or me! Every bit of their colorful wedding day matched their life-of-the-party personalities and reflected who they were as a couple — right down to the decision to keep their ceremony to an intimate affair of less than 10. Before walking into the bold, pink-hued reception buzzing with a sea of friends and family at The Four Seasons, they chose to exchange vows in front of family-only inside the famous Rothko Chapel in downtown Houston. After skipping though the park in the blazing heat, (quite literally, thanks to the hilariously energetic groomsmen) we went back to the cool a/c of the swanky hotel and partied the night away — pup included!

I am ridiculously in love with this shot. While half of my job as a wedding photographer is to create art, the other half is about creating a consistently beautiful product. I shoot backlit 90% of the time because it’s what I’m known for, but when I get the chance to shoot for myself I’m drawn to harsh light, shadows, and contrast, like the stark front light and leading lines in this scene. As soon as I saw it, I had a vision of our model brides tangled on the floor in a modern-day-meets-vogue style pose. When I stepped back and snapped this shot of real-life couple Bri and Alisha, I was overwhelming thrilled with the intensity.

HAPPY PRIDE MONTH, Y’ALL! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️ Supporting our LGBTQ+ couples, friends, and community is an important core value to me and is central to who I am as a person. I fully believe that love is love, and that you should be able to love who you love without judgement from anyone — especially the photographer you choose to celebrate your joy and happiness with you on your wedding day. Your wedding photographer should be as excited about your love as you are — full stop.

When I heard about this insanely fun, colorful, stained-glass styled shoot .the.pretty.things.htx was putting on to celebrate month, I knew I wanted to be apart of it! A rainbow beard, feathered short-and-blazer combo, and a sequin suit? Ohhhhhh yes please! It was so much fun photographing just for the heck of it and getting to be as creative as I wanted to be. Thank you so much to all of the vendors and models who put this together; I have so many more images coming your way!

IT’S HERE!!!! Jacquelyne and Trey planned the coolest wedding that transported every single person there into another realm. Every single detail of their day was so THEM, and every guest there showed up in full support — costumes included. Jacquelyne and I have been talking about and planning for this day for over 2 years, and one COVID reschedule n one backyard wedding later, it finally happened and was everything I knew it would be and more. I have SO many amazing images to share from this day that I can’t wait to spam you all with over the next few weeks! HOW COOL WAS THIS DAY?!

THIS. WEDDING. YALL. I knew this day was going to be beautiful, but even still I was taken aback when I walked in the room. Every single detail of Dani’s & Robert’s boho fairytale wedding day at The Springs Event Venue was impeccable thanks to Dani’s love for design and attention to detail. They quite literally danced in a cloud and I don’t think I’ve ever hear guests cheer that loudly with excitement before.

After eleven years together and one pandemic reschedule later, Phi and Andy got to officially say “I do” in an epic wedding day filled with laughter and family this last Friday! The showering of pink florals, travel themed touches, and personal photos was the perfect backdrop for the party atmosphere that I thoroughly enjoyed dancing my way through.
