I bought this dress specifically for . Not knowing when we’d ever photograph her in it.

I remember vividly her walking into the studio building where we were once neighbors. I had the elevator packed moving everything out on the day we moved to Louisiana. I see her standing there with her giant bag heading to work. I call out to her to say that I’m hogging the elevator. She looks at me and then looks at her bag with a face that just said “how am I gonna get this bag upstairs?”

Instantly, I knew.

“Omg, are you pregnant?!” as I took her bag and hauled it upstairs.

Life is funny like that. The day I was moving out of our shared building was the day I found out she was pregnant.

Nonetheless, we made it work. Thanks to letting us shoot in her space for a day. We made dreamy portraits come to life.

this weekend includes a long drive to photograph a good friend for her maternity portraits, visiting for the first time in what feels like forever, and followed up with a week in Houston to visit family, friends, and corporate life check-ins.

I’m so excited to shoot for the first time in months.
