Mommas, I am here to tell you, that you will never ever ever regret documenting the mundane every day moments of your family life.
When I first started my photography journey years ago, I would get caught up in gear envy. If I could just buy that new lens or latest gadget, my images would be amazing. I would be validated. And I would be great.
Then at a conference one year, a very smart rockstar photographer told me that the best camera, is the one that you have in your hand. At that point in my career, if she would have told me to stand on my head in the middle of traffic and shoot wide open, I would have done it 🤭😜. Luckily, she was right and she didn’t tell me to do any of that nonsense. Most of what I share here with y’all are taken with my iPhone- not my big camera.
Y’all I use my iPhone 8!
For. Real.
I still use my big camera, but with intention. Storytelling through images is my jam. It’s one of the few talents that the good Lord gave me. I try not interrupt a moment, so I can document with authenticity. Sometimes it means being the creepy weirdo crawling on the ground or standing on a chair behind them, but that’s where we are 🤷🏻♀️. They put up with my foolishness and love me anyway. Take 👏🏽those 👏🏽 pictures, 👏🏽mommas. They don’t stay little for long.
