Whenever we make the trip from San Diego to Mammoth, we typically stop for a moment at the Manzanar National Historic Site. Manzanar was 1 of the 10 internment camps constructed to relocate Japanese Americans during WWII. It is a sobering place to visit each time.

This memorial is located in what was the cemetery at the back of the camp's original layout. A view that should inspire only awe at nature's beauty marred by the sorrowful memories contained here.
