You may have noticed I don’t really post stuff like this these days as I focus most of my work energy on the hospitality space. That being said, I was out scouting a shot recently for a small project with and came across this scene with Pikes Peak framed between the Republic Building and the TransAmerica building in . It’s hard to believe we’re saying goodbye to a place like this. 💔🏔️

Piney Lake and have been part of so many Colorado memories over the years. The incredible views of the Gore Range, the peaceful water, the mountain air, and those moments when you stop, take it all in, and remember just how lucky we are to live in a place like this.

Like so many others, I’ve loved spending time here, capturing its beauty and experiencing what makes it so special.

The news that is closing its operations after being unable to reach a long-term lease agreement with is incredibly disappointing. It’s a reminder that even the places we think will always be there aren’t guaranteed to stay the same.

I know there are complicated decisions involved, but it’s still heartbreaking to think about losing the experience of visiting a place that has meant so much to so many people.

Colorado’s outdoors are part of what makes this state so special. I hope we continue to find ways to protect these incredible places and preserve opportunities for people to experience them for years to come.

I spent yesterday at the Hospitality Summit in Breckenridge talking with hosts, property managers and creators about what actually makes STR content work.

And one thing I keep coming back to:

Your photos shouldn’t just show someone where they’re staying. They should help them imagine being there.

Listing photos show the space.

Lifestyle photos show the experience.

Drone footage shows the setting.

Short-form video gives people a reason to stop scrolling.

Put it all together and you have a content library that can work far beyond your Airbnb, VRBO or direct booking site listing.

That’s the kind of content I love creating for short-term rentals. 📸🚁
