The #1 thing couples do during their first dance that ruins the photos. 💃
It's not the dancing. It's the chit-chat.

I've seen it a hundred times. The music starts. The couple comes together. And then... they start talking. About the caterer. About the timeline. About what's happening next.

And while they're talking, their faces are doing weird things.

Here's the fix: Save the chit-chat for the reception tables. Let the dance be the moment. Look at each other.
Breathe.
Hold each other like no one else is in the room.

That's when the photos look like love. Not logistics.

When it’s too hot to go outside, you take your engagement photos to Dave & Buster’s. 🎮

It was August in Houston. 100+ degrees outside plus a stupid amount of humidity. And Anna & Oz? They chose air conditioning. Smart couple.

We went to their favorite games. They played against each other (and with each other). We laughed a LOT. And Oz even managed to win a teddy bear in the claw machine during the session. 🧸

This is what an engagement session should feel like. A date. Not a photoshoot.

Almost Friday. 🙌 And honestly, it’s been a pretty dang good Thursday.

I got to meet some amazing brides today, the Spawn had his very first tennis class 🎾, and he’s somehow already having a GREAT first six weeks of 7th grade. 🥹

And then there’s this little reminder of why I love what I do…

A grand exit, a ridiculous amount of confetti, and two people who were WAY too excited to officially be married. 😂🎉

Give me the messy, joyful, confetti-everywhere moments every single time.

Throwback to this golden hour dream session with Faith & Christopher at one of my favorite spots, Brazos Bend State Park. We had the best time exploring the trails and capturing their easy-going connection.

Being there from the engagement to the “I do’s” is the biggest privilege. I’m currently deep in editing their wedding gallery, and let me tell you, it’s filled with even more incredible joy and emotion. Stay tuned for those sneak peeks!

For my couples—this is why I love engagement sessions! It’s our chance to get comfortable in front of the camera long before the wedding day, so when it arrives, you can just be yourselves.
