Sometimes I forget how blessed we are to be in love.

How we were born 8,978 miles apart and God still brought us together…

How blessed we are that we knew we were soulmates from the beginning — I told my sisters I’d met my husband after our first date & You looked me in my eyes and told me we would be married on our second date.

How blessed we are that we both had a people praying over us. People who taught us about God. That we both wanted a relationship with Him in the Center.

Blessed that even though we both had our pasts, we had access to counseling and someone to teach us how to be married. How you love each other correctly.

Blessed that when you proposed in my pastor’s office it was everything I never knew I wanted and didn’t have the words to ask for.

And that we could afford to bring both sides of our family together, for the first and last time before losing dad, for our big white wedding.

Blessed to be so in love, we eloped months before because we couldn’t wait that long.

Sometimes I forget how you prayed over me the night you put that ring on my finger…

Or how you wept when we said I do.

How blessed that I have someone who can make me laugh on my darkest day. Hold me together when I’m losing it and tell me I’m wrong when I need to hear it.

Blessed to have children that are beautiful, happy and perfectly healthy.

& down right favored I am to be sure that I’ve found the one whom my soul loves.

I was made from you, for you.

I have a request… can we cancel the glorification of the hustling pregnancy? Because it’s really crazy when you think about it.

I saw a Facebook post that said “share if you worked during your pregnancy” and people were bragging about working until the day they went into labor. And I mean on your feet JOBS like nursing (y’all should know better)

Now I know financially it’s not possible for everyone to stay home while pregnant but I also know for some women it is possible but they worry about being labeled as “lazy” or falling behind in business and career. I know that men treat you differently when you come back to corporate from maternity leave but have no problem when men become dads because they’re still “all about the job”.

If you’re pregnant and have the resources to prioritize your rest, here’s your permission babe. Take the time, rest. Scale back the hours, take leave a few weeks earlier, transition to a work from home, whatever you gotta do. But your physical and mental health is the priority for you and baby.

Jobs will be there. And if you pass out at work or god forbid something happens to that baby, they’ll post your job on indeed before you’re even out the hospital.

This week was a movie 🤩
