With the light fading fast we made the 3 km trek into the jungle barefoot through the water and mud. Due to the low water levels we couldn’t get the boat close. The water can drop as low as 50 feet in the dry season! I counted 30+ alligators just a few feet away as we brought all of our gear in. The man holding the yellow bag is Stan Abrahamson, one of the missionaries I went to visit. The name of the lake is uruapiara and it was stunning! I think this was the most remote I’ve ever been in my life.

After a long trip down river deep into the and hanging with some wonderful new friends, I am heading home. Filming went so well and there are many stories to share!

My journey to the Brazilian interior begins. I am filming an amazing missionary couple, Stan and Rebecca Abrahmson, that have been living there for most of their lives. Their work takes them far up the Madeira river, a tributary of the Amazon, to remote river villages. These photos are from the last of three flights to get from New Orleans to Porto Velho Brazil. From there we took a long drive to the city of Humaitá which is where their home, office, and boats are based out of. Tomorrow Stan and I will be going on a 6 hour speed boat trip up to a lake to visit and film. @ Humaitá, Amazonas
