There is something so special about photographing a family’s legacy. 🤍

For the past few years, I’ve had the honor of photographing the Young family whenever all the kids are back in town and everyone is together. This year, Nana and Pops were surrounded by their four children and their grandchildren—and what a beautiful sight it was.

Looking at this family, I couldn’t help but think about the legacy Nana and Pops have built. A legacy of love, family, laughter, and generations who genuinely enjoy being together.

These are the moments worth capturing—the rare times when everyone is in one place, the hugs between generations, and the family you’ve spent a lifetime building.

Young family, thank you for trusting me to preserve another chapter of your story. It is always such a joy! 🤍

You do NOT need to practice posing or worry about knowing what to do.

That part is my job. 📸

Instead, focus on the things that will help you feel your absolute best:

🤍 Schedule your hair + makeup trial for the same day
🤍 Bring your bouquet if possible
🤍 Have your dress steamed and ready
🤍 Bring your veil, shoes, jewelry + any meaningful details
🤍 Give yourself plenty of time so you aren’t arriving rushed
🤍 And most importantly, come ready to HAVE FUN

Your bridal session is your chance to slow down, soak in this season, and see yourself as a BRIDE before the wedding day even arrives. ✨

Choosing each other all over again, surrounded by the people who have been part of the story. 🤍

There is something so meaningful about a vow renewal. It’s a chance to look back on everything you’ve built together, celebrate the love that has carried you through, and make those promises again with even more life behind them.

A beautiful reminder that love is not only found in the beginning. It’s found in continuing to choose one another, year after year.

Sometimes you just have to race the rain! ⛈️🤍

I had the sweetest time photographing this beautiful family at their home on Lake Hamilton. With the lake right in their backyard, we couldn’t have asked for a more meaningful backdrop.

As we worked through all the different family combinations, a thunderstorm appeared in the distance—and it approached fast! Thankfully, we captured every group before the rain arrived. Then we ran under their covered porch and kept the session going with a few more cozy family photos.

It may not have been the weather we planned for, but it made the evening even more memorable. The best sessions aren’t always perfectly predictable—they’re about capturing your family together, exactly as you are in this season. 🤍

Here are 3 simple things I wish every mom knew:

✨ Find good light.
Face your family toward a window indoors or look for open shade outside. Good light can completely change a photo!

✨ Get everyone close.
Closer than you think! Have everyone lean in, put arms around each other, or snuggle up. Connection instantly makes a photo feel better.

✨ Stop asking everyone to say “CHEESE!”
Instead, make them laugh. Tell a joke, tickle the kids, or ask everyone to look at each other. Those real smiles will always beat a forced one.

You don’t need perfect kids, perfect outfits, or professional equipment to document your family well. 🤍
