Flowers are waning at Garvan, but still a nice walk and it was nice to fire up the Mamiya today. Mamiya 645df+ IQ140 ISO 200, 210mm F4. Various speeds most apertures were between f4 and f8.

I have shared a few adventures over the years with my bargain-bin—usually broken—cameras. This Hasselblad H4D-40 is one of my favorites because it uses a Kodak-made CCD sensor.

The camera came to me with a battery-drain issue, which I solved with an external power source. Then came the lens: a Hasselblad HC 35mm from KEH, graded “Ugly” and filled with fungus. Thankfully, the lens was fairly easy to disassemble, and with patience, careful cleaning, and a little prayer, I was able to bring it back to life.

Tonight I took the camera to a local creek for its first real test. I stopped the lens down beyond f/16 and used a 25-second exposure to reveal any remaining problems.

The camera and lens performed beautifully. Had it not been for the mosquitoes, I would have stayed much longer.

I hope this rescued Hasselblad has many more photographs ahead of it.
