This coffee shop has been my home in my time in Nashville. Since, I’ve moved to different apartments and houses each year I have been here, it has been the grounding force in my experience that no matter where I live, I would have somewhere to come back to.

Those walls have been sacred and safe and special, and I am losing them.

I am grateful for my time. I am grateful for the couches. I am grateful for my baristas and coffee and friends that became closer in proximity.

I am grieving my home. I am grieving having a place to go to be surprised by sweet unexpected encounters. I am grieving the memories I hoped to make here and the seasons of life I wanted this place to be apart of. I am grieving that those I love in the future will never know one of the most formative places in my life.

I am grieving one of the greatest connectors in Nashville as I know so many of us are. This space has been just as important to so many others as it was to me. Helpless to succumb to the fearful cycle that Nashville is perpetrating. Losing soul for the sake of “progress.”

I will never forget Faith’s mom telling me she was so glad that I was taking photos for the wedding because she knows I love Faith & that it would show in the photos & that feels so true! it is such a blessing to celebrate someone who has been so dear to me for so long, what a sweet sweet day
